This show was honestly one of the biggest surprises of the year

The reason Stylwell kissed Homelander after he told her that he made the villains was because she was so terrified of what he is capable of doing behind her back that she reverted back to what has traditionally kept him in line, knowing that it might no longer be working.

Stillwell was trying desperately to keep Homelander under control. She was the only one who ever could, because of his mommy issues, but when she found out what he'd been doing to give them new enemies, she realized he was completely out of control, and seduced him while making sure she was the dominant lover, on top of him and telling him what he could or couldn't do, to reinforce her control over him. She was desperate, and it was the one move she still hadn't made yet to manipulate him, so she finally did it. It made perfect sense, but he's too far gone. He was always the one who didn't have the "weakness" of caring about other people, because he's a psychopath from how he was raised. Not capable of empathy.

Butcher convinced the boys to get back together off of his hate for Homelander. If you really think about it Frenchie and Mother's Milk was good with leaving it all behind after that agent's grandchildren were killed so in a sense if they wanted to they could blame Butch for getting them involved again. And he also left them to be prisoners, he's a terrible leader.
The Boys actually killing Translucent convinced Mother Milk, And Frenchie really had no choice because Translucent saw his face.

The reason why they hid the kid from Homelander was because like the Scientist said, Homelander shouldve been grown in a home and not in a lab so not only is he the strongest person in this universe he has no morals. They made the situation possible to make becca and Homelander get close enough together to have sex and impregnate her so she can birth a child that can be as strong as him to put him in check. They hid becca so the child can grow up with morals and in a loving home which you can see comapred to the flashbacks and the boys lazer eyes the walls of the science cell were bruned because the babys(homelander) powers were unstable. But beccas son flashes is lazer eyes showing he has more control over his powers. Stillwell expresses shes scared of him and the scientist says hes too violent and lack empathy since he never had a mother.

Butch used their hate of the sups to help him take down his ultimate goal, Homelander. They did join him of their own volition but he also manipulated them by making them think he had a master plan when he was just flying by the seed of his pants. Even when the FBI Chick gave him a chance, he refused because she wouldn't give him Homelander. Also, when he first approached the MC, he used him to bug Caught and tried to get rid of him after. The only reason Butch kept him around was because he figured out that electricity was the invisible guy's weakness.

Just dropping some trivia: the actress playing Madelyn Stillwell, Elisabeth Shue, played both the girl that Daniel wins over in The Karate Kid, and Marty's girlfriend/future wife in the Back to the Future sequels, in some of her earliest roles. Aside from a handful of things, she's been typecast for decades; I think The Boys showed that was down to industry stupidity. In the comics... Her character was a guy named James Stillwell, and the relationship with Homelander was pretty different. In the comics he just confidently orders Supes around, and only has one moment where he actually seems human. So this portrayal is all down to the showrunners and her as an actress, not simply reliance on source material.

@@aligaines8476 She's been in a lot of things; just wanted to point out I think she's deserved a wider variety of roles, and Stillwell is a good example of why. I never bought that the character was entirely comfortable with the situations with Homelander that she was put in, yet she was still in her position in the company for a reason.
Seeing the teaser for Season 2 and what Homelander did to his “mommies”, it’ll be interesting how many he had until Stillwell and how long she actually was in the job for.

I thought we explained this like two weeks ago. Homelander was fully capable of lifting the plane, but it was made out of aluminum, it would have crumbled under its own weight, it wasn’t built to be held up by one single human-sized point on any area of its frame.

Biggest problem is the fight between Atrain and Starkight. Light moves at 671,000,000 MPH. ATrain was able to move between her light motes as if they weren't even moving. Also his top speed at that race against The Blister speedster was around 700 mph and he was seriously pushing it. Huge flub....lol
