Ep.9 : This week’s episode of The Unit is ‘Restart Part 1’. The first hurdle where performers drop starts at last. Before they form groups, everyone gathers for fierce dance battles which to decide the best dancers of all. After this, each person goes into a room that has the title of the song they want to perform to. With the new group members, they start practicing in earnest.

Still little upset that Junhyun didn't stay on the throne. Mint's dance was really good and I think she kept up with the good atmosphere and vibe of the song well but I feel like Juhyun really took advantage of the song choice and it's beat better than Mint did. But nonetheless really great dancers, congrats to Mint~

katie kawaii Honestly she doesn't belong on top 9 or the show itself to be honest. First of all, it's an idol reboot project yet she hasn't even came close to debuting yet. Even more, it's going to be almost restricting for the group if she was top 9 since she's 13. There'll be a lot of restrictions on concepts and music.

Honestly, there are so many unfairness going on this show. Just like how the yellow team should have won, Juhyun did way better than mint. The girl has charisma, but on an honest note, she bearly demonstrates any dance moves. However, Juhyun hit every beat with her moves. Same thing is displayed again when Joo was chosen cuz she was cute when in fact, she cant even dance. Fighting Juhyun. (concealing your age seems to be an option in a competition like this in order to get judge fairly

hyunjoo was chosen for her charisma. just like how lee jungha was chosen. u can learn to sing and dance but having that type of charisma is rare. it happens on a lot of idol groups, theres atleast a member who doesnt excel on both singing and dancing but has extreme charisma and great visual

The original center of blue team (joo team) is lena (the Chinese girl) if i recall corectly. I still don't know why they changed to joo

Ajay tbh she doesn't fit there, she hasn't debuted yet, this show was supposed to be for idols who didn't make it big in KPop Industry, they were in that show for recognition, sadly the show lost it's own aim.
maureen thirteen actually it was for anyone who has tv or video appearance.. that’s why Hansol is here even though technically he wasn’t a debuted artist but a trainee with tv appearance.. technically this is a show to reboot any artist career ( solo singer, idol, actor, etc.) because their shot in fame was not noticed etc.

sorry sorry the 14 year old's beat, on time rhythmic dance moves were seriously on point, she hit those dance moves with every beat in that song...she should of received 187 points in my book..her competitor only won cause she was wearing daisy dukes and blonde and tanned and cute...her dance moves were nothing compared to the 14 year old...this show's voting is really getting on my last freakin nerve here...
yeah i get what u mean but i think we have to take in account as a performer how u make the audience feel as well as what reactions you can get. Mint showed a stronger attitude and i guess this helped her to emit this power out towards the other contestants making them more intrigued in her performance than jihyun but thats from my perspective

I really don’t agree with the choreographer who was angry that the black team were sleeping. It was only 8 at night so obv they weren’t going to sleep til the next morning, it was just a break. Sure the other teams are practising while they are sleeping, but later they might be practising while the other teams are sleeping too. They didn’t know she was coming. Plus they don’t have just 3 days again for this challenge so they can afford to sleep a little bit. It’s important to take breaks, they might come back more recharged and work more efficiently than if they just carried on like zombies.
Ruby I actually understand why she'd be angry. They themselves decided to meet at 9pm 28:30 then they ended actually sleeping past 9pm 29:59. The choreographer Kim HwaYeong was there to help them with their choreography which she cannot do past a certain time as she had other teams to help too. They themselves could practice even after midnight when other teams would be sleeping but HwaYeong can't be available then so they have to make themselves available to her & they know that, that's why they felt bad in the end.

If they knew she was coming then of course they wouldn’t have taken a break at that time, it was just unlucky that it was at the same time. I just don’t like how she said “are you here to sleep?” cos it’s actually important to sleep, mission or not. And they weren’t sleeping through the night either.
Ruby Yes, it was a surprise visit & that's why they weren't prepared for her. But may be that's why she was angry as well cause trainees I assume are expected to work just as hard & sometimes I think even they sacrifice some sleep without any certainty of debuting. Almost all the members of this show on the other hand have already debuted so they're more desperate & may be she expected to see some of that in their practise which she probably saw in other teams when she gave them a surprise visit. It's probably like first impression, it can have an impact either positive or negative.
I really don’t like that choreographer. I’ve watched the unit like 4 times, and every time, I just dislike her more. Even if a performance is good, she’ll ONLY point out the bad elements of it; and won’t even acknowledge the impressive parts of it. She comes off as really rude to me
While it is important to take breaks your whole paragraph is filled with might, might come back, might do this or that. The girls shouldn't of taken that break the choreographer had every right to act how she acted. 3 days may seem like a lot but for perfecting a dance and needing a break it's not a lot of time - I'm a full time dancer i would know - it's important to be safe and look after you bodies but they had been taking a break for a while already and were running to go to sleep so they had energy to stay longer. It's a fragile topic but in my opinion they shouldn't have taken the break nevertheless it's a earning experience.

Juhyun was the best in that dance. It was more for Swag than dance. I dont say thank Mint dance bad, i just say than the dance of suhyun was best, and yes, Mint do a trick in the end but after that, the coreography wasnt "Wow"

I'm pretty angry at the dance teacher, they make the competition rate in South Korea so much worse by setting a new program like this up. Yes, it seems like a second chance for these kids, but for what price? Plus, why the fuck do so many kids want to be an idol, it doesn't make sense! They have to be other jobs, they could like, but for that, the competition has to chill down in the whole country. And this woman may have gone to the top with this life style, but it's more like "what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger" attitude. There are enough kids, who commited suicide due to that, it has to stop!!!
1000glowflys Actually, it's not just entertainment industry but the compeitition like this is in all every compeititions such as university admission. If you want to understand why the people have to be serious or really pay attention to everything that they do, I think you have to search more the information about Korean or korea history since world war until being one of the most successful country about industrial business now. English is not my native speaking so I don't want to mistranslate or make another people misunderstand something because of me. There're many information in English version or maybe your language. You can search and read it. I know it's so cruel. I don't want to see some suicidal case more like you too but if you want to change or see it better, you have to understand why they're like this. Not just conplaining with your thinking that based on your country or experience. You have to understand them.
Holy shit that dance teacher was unreasonable. They take 40 minutes out of a day to nap and all the sudden, they're now labeled "lazy." For all the dance teacher knew, they could have slept for 1 minute or 6 hours. She didn't even bother to ask.

What I don't understand: Everytime when it's about dancing neither Taemin nor Hyuna are there. Wouldn't they be the best people to judge and to instruct? I don't really get the whole mentor thing if most are mostly absent.
I think for taemin if I am not wrong this was near jonghyun’s passing. Thus, he dropped out from judging. As for hyuna I’m not very sure... was wondering the same thing also...

So Joohyun is 16 now. The thought is she will debut in a group with Han Chowon. People think Cube will debut them this year. I think it will be next year. CLC will likely disband this year and (G)I-dle is still rising and is already one of the top 4th gen groups. They still have time because of their youth.

I understand why Mint won, The 13 yrs old already set the mood, so people judged less on the skills and were hyping on the mood that was already set.

I don't understand why even 6 years later people still come here to hate on Mint and belittle her performance. Just because she showed a different dance style doesn't mean she was worse than Ju, the victory was based on the personal taste of each artist in The Unit and dance performance is not just about technique and perfection, in this game it was about showing energy and having fun. Mint managed to intoxicate the crowd with her steps and cheer them up as well as surprising and showing a little of her personality through dancing, and people liked her show. She did a good job and it must be horrible to go back to a video that shows an incredible moment of your life and see people to this day criticizing you for just having fun and looking down on your work and style! If you like Ju, you don't need to be cruel and rude to Mint, show some respect, please.
