- macmost.com/e-2081 There are many ways to record audio from your Mac's built-in microphone or a mic you have connected. You can use the Voice Memos app or the QuickTime Player app to record quickly into a file you can use in another app or send online. You can use GarageBand for more complex recordings and editing. You can also record audio directly into some apps like iMovie, Keynote and Pages.

great video thanks
Great job! Very useful!!!🎉
Great instructional video!
Thanks a lot for you help.
Thank you !
Well done Gary. You may want to add that the iPhone works well as an on location recorder to capture ambient and man made sounds. They can be added to a slide show of video as a foli tract. It adds realism and a spatial dimension. Captured ambient sounds like birds, frog, crickets, thunder, rain, footsteps or getting in a car is fun to build to add to you Jingles in Final Cut or for a pod cast. Music is over used in video, but natural and man made sounds adds a real punch. Instructional Technologists, M. ED,, USF Retired.

Very informative for any Podcaster using IMac. Thanks.
A year later, reviewing all I can , learning my iMac (late 2012) after Windows user since the 90’s. Time Patience and determined, a year later... I may just stick with this challenge . Audio Narrating has driven this major change after 60 something... Whoa!
Very informative for a newbie Mac user. I’ve been debating the Catalina upgrade yet knowing Mojave will no longer be supported for any upgrades etc except bug fixes for awhile I believe I read. Anyways I will check how Catalina is fairing on all fronts now.
I appreciated this info , quick , thorough review of what all my iMac can do with its installed multi audio video programs .
My goal is to use my audio USB mixer without the software installed for ran into download problems plus the Ableton Live really gave me fits and has been known to be subjected to malware and hacked in through it. Yikes !
I may use the Garage Band to record and Audacity to edit . Reviewing Auria Pro and Cubasis2 next yet as a beginner so far Audacity 3.1 seems preferred.
Thank you again for your Get the Most from your Mac🌈🌈
Thnk u sO MUCH SIR
Great content, thanks
Thanks , new to mac os and needed something to capture my work calls via 3.5 jack.
This video is money! Thank you so much!!
Super your aa videos are awesome …I have subscribed
Thanks for the video! Really well put-together. Question for you (hopefully this is applicable to your knowledge set): I'm recording from an AT2020 into a mixer which then connect to my mac. What would be the best way to monitor my recording? ie. How can I hear what I'm recording AS I'm recording it? I have tried plugging my mixer into my speaker monitor but it creates feedback when I turn the AT2020 volume up. So I'd like to find a different solution. Do I need to invest in headphones that I connect to my mixer? PS. I'm also hoping to monitor myself during Zoom calls and livestreaming on FB/CZcams. Thanks so much!
This is my guided and I will play this until it is stuck in my head…. Thank you.
oh my god you saved me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thank you so so much!>
thank you
You are the man!
you give me amazing trick you rock it ,regards from nepal
Can you record on the newest IPAD PRO (so voice overs through a vocal booth with an XLR mic) what would be a good combo for that
Hi Gary - Well done demonstration 😎 (Question) I use Quick Time - New Audio Recording - With a Yeti Sterio Microphone, Blue USB / / The quality is good and usable but I have to be in a quite room. Is there a way to use Quick Time and record without using a microphone? Thsnks: The other Gary from Michigan. 🚂
I record video on my iphone using an external mic and put it into iMovie. I occasionally want to take my audio portion of the recording and change it up (add effects, better quality, etc.). I save the video on my desktop as "audio only". I also saw in this video that you drag to desktop using Voice Memo and it saves as M4P format. Can garageband let me import the audio from the desktop clip in that format or does it need to be in a certain format? Is there an easier way to enhance the audio and then put back into iMovie!
Thanks.
Best video ever!
Wow, just what I needed!! My wife saw me recording and said, " You are so techie!" Laugh out loud.
Lmaooo 😅
After Audacity not working without messing with terminal i found this video very helpful thanks
