The “non-flare gun” does look like a taser to me. As for Doc II/“Girl Doc”, she was introduced in the Devil’s Due comic continuity because OG Doc was one of several Joes who were killed by the SAW Viper in the Marvel comic series.
I guess when I was a kid I didn’t really Lifeline was an avowed pacifist. I loved his color scheme and he was by far my favorite medic. I’d always have his fast roping from helicopters. Those were the days. Reminded me of a Coast Guard Rescue Swimmer.
If you read the original life line file card, comic books and look at the artwork of the original figure (he’s carrying a gun) I think the writers took that from docs character and applied it to life line for the cartoon and doc used guns in the cartoon ….its like they kind of flip flopped that character trait around in the cartoon
Great video and glamour shots. They swapped Doc being a pacifist with Lifeline on the show. On Doc’s file card, it identifies him as a pacifist, and Lifeline joined the military for the benefits he wasn’t getting as an EMT in the fire department. I assume they weren’t ready in those early episodes to talk about pacifists in the military when there were MASS devices and Weather Dominators to deal with. 😂
The purpose of the Medicine bottles is to carry Bug Juice or Repellent this was practiced during the Vietnam era being he is a old guy no medication also worked well in jungles …

Doc was my favorite, easy going but you can just tell nobody messes with Doc. Fast forward I had a 23 yr career in EMS and Doc played a role in that.
