This was on September 5, 2016 - a 70th birthday celebration of Freddie in Montreux. Lots of superfans went to see Marc and Queen Extravaganza that day.

I have full admiration for Marc and this is the closest he has got to Freddie's voice ! The guy has immense talent and through him Queens music will continue and hopefully new songs will emanate from Queen Extravaganza.
Marc has not performed with Queen Extravaganza in nearly two years, he is now touring with his own Ultimate Queen Celebration as well as singing with Black Jacket Symphony when they do A Night at the Opera.

When Queen requested Marc sing in Bohemian Rhapsody to complete the many segments they needed his voice - you better believe he sounds like Freddie.The minority of those who disagree seem to only be unusually defensive, angry Adam Lambert fans. It's weird. Not sure why they get so defensive when Adam is the guest singer with Queen.
They seem to really enjoy Adam's Broadway voice. They have a right to enjoy whoever they enjoy - certainly - but it's a bit comedic when they try and say Marc doesn't sound like Freddie, when Queen themselves discovered and hired Marc to replicate Freddie's voice for various purposes.
One major purpose was to lead a band that Queen formed to keep their original sound alive. Adam's fans don't seem to want to acknowledge that fact.
Brian and Roger drew the line at touring with Marc themselves in Queen, stating it was "too emotionally difficult for them, as it was like Freddie was standing right there next to them again". Too bad for those of us who far prefer Freddie's sound live. Though Marc's own band is amazing, and they regularly perform live!!! Win win for all I guess.

He would have been a better Freddie replacement than Adam Lambert. Although no one will ever be able to replace Freddie. He really is a one off never to see the likes of him again
Went to Q+AL couple days ago and honestly at this point it doesn’t matter. Crowd was lackluster (I was in middle back side of floor. A couple of songs were overproduced with sound effects. Music at points were played in a way to give Brian and Roger an easier time not to play at Adam’s style/strengths. Using tapes like the intro of You Take My Breathe Away in between songs for breaks instead of Adam interacting with crowd. A vast majority of crowd didn’t care about Drum/Guitar solos. Honestly Lambert wasn’t bad but didn’t do anything that wowed me. Overall it’s a concert for causals and those who haven’t seen Brian or Roger or see them for the last time. A pricey one at that. More like a broadway show with Brian, Roger, and Spike there. Came out with a better understanding of John not wanting to be playing with them. Not a bad show but underwhelming and having Marc wouldn’t have mattered when 95% of crowd isn’t singing along to Love of My Life. Couldn’t really fairly compare it to Q+PR concert since I was only 12 then. At this point wish we could get a reunion of the original Queen Extravaganza 5 piece.

Azarack Nargothrond Marcelo - Ironic isn’t it? Especially when Roger Taylor invited him to perform here on Freddie’s birthday - and Queen found him to do Freddie’s voice overs for the Bohemian Rhapsody movie. I think it’s a small group of very angry Adam Lambert fans. They are always angry whenever Marc performs and no gets why exactly. Marc is truly the nicest guy.

In 1995 the song was re-released on the last Queen album "Made In Heaven", Brian, Roger and John reworked the instrumental arrangement and it became a Queen track, even though the song is created 100% by Freddie Mercury.

Even tho to me his voice doesn't sound exactly like him, in 1:04 and 1:56, is pretty scary how his voice gets so close to him.
I feel like Marc can perfectly imitate Freddie's qualities and techniques, but that would damage his voice a lot.
Marc obviously has his own timbre, so when it happens, it happens, he doesn't really need to force it. That said, Martel's voice can get pretty close sometimes, for example here, when he sang Who Wants To Live Forever with the orchestra: czcams.com/video/5JYjKkA1Jqk/video.html
Marc is able to sing like this without straining, since this is how he's done it for 20 years. The "challenging" part is hitting the notes like the studio recording night after night on tour. Had to "exercise" those vocal muscles.
