The best thing about the Bayonetta series is how the enemies are properly introduced. You never see average enemies in most games have that much personailty or even enough respect to be shown like this.
For me, it's the fact that Light isn't the be-all-end-all cosmic force of good and Darkness isn't the be-all-end-all cosmic force of evil that makes me like this game.
I agree with you, but I have seen a few people complain about this when arguing that the original is better than the sequel. With so many introductions to short and simple fights, it felt far more like a big boss rush than the more story orientated original. I can understand that, but whatever floats your boat. I like it this way!
Okami featured intros like these ones for every normal enemy and bosses in the game. Makes sense though, it was developed by a lot of people that also participated in Bayonetta's development.

Fun Fact: The physical appearances of many angels and demons in Bayonetta are actually shaped by the collective conscious of humanity at that period of time, that's why there's so many "new" angels in this game. It's also why many demon are literal manifestations of the negative emotions they're named after. Because Bayonetta herself is the central focus of the story, much of the awesome lore behind these creatures can only be found in those books you find throughout both games. The book closing transition after each intro are also indicators that you've acquired the lore that enemy in your inventory.

Not necessarily. The humanoid looking demons like Madama Butterfly and Madama Styx look human because they were. According to the lore of Bayonetta, human souls on special circumstances can become Angels and/or Demons. One example behind the principles of this lore is Labolas, who became like that because he was a simple dog that had to fight and survive in Inferno. Another example is that one scene in the first game where Jeanne runs into people killing themselves (akin to a suicide pact in a suicide cult), to which sometime after Affinities appeared.

Witches kill angels everyday as a condition of the contract meaning that more than likely the demons grow more powerful the more angels the witch kills. It's even said in the movie that as Bayonetta kills more angels, her power grows. So if she breaks the contract with Bayonetta, it is SHE that is negatively affected, not Bayonetta
There is, something about Bayonetta 2's plot that was simplified over Bayonetta 1,i believe this is because the change of directors, Kamiya loves adding details to the plot and every enemy, alot of details missing this time. Only a vague mention that demons rebelled because the right eye was no more, for some reason they are working for Aesir . However Bayonetta 2 is second part of a larger story so we might see more demons in Bayonetta 3

I am a fan of both devil may cry and bayonetta, one of the things i like about both is their enemy design, they get creative with it and give us bible accurate angels, and believably terrifying demons
that raged up sloth in chapter 10 tho. Pretty sure it has some of the highest damage output in the game, some of the attacks deal like a good third of your health bar at that point. Honestly harder than some of the first sphere angels lol

DMC and Bayo are in the same Universe,so it's most likely that the Lava Spider from DMC is the same species as the one in Bayonetta
