Bom trabalho.
I'VE LEARNED IT ALL
BUT DID YOU THOUGH BRONSON?!

"Completed [the video], mate, ... That kind of stuff doesn't go unnoticed."
yeah football manager great game but I think "Go Ace!" is the most important thing we can learn from this video
¡Tranquilo...assenayo! (although based Tanahashi is, in fact, based)
This was awesome :) I've been playing since CM2 days .. So much nostalgia in there. FM2013 I played an offensive amount of as I kept going back to it over the next years, so I racked up 4-5000 hours on that. Thanks for putting this together and making me load up a new game at 3am ....
Not a problem at all, glad you enjoyed it and thank you for watching it! While I got into it more recently than most, a ton of the research meant hunting down the old CM games and booting them up to see it for myself/grab screenshots/etc and it's astounding to see the evolution of the series as a whole.
I started on cm 98
Man championship manager 01/02 was my all time favourite the 1 with the burgundy background it truly is the OG of footy manager games
Absolutely Exceptional as I knew it would be Chris. Congrats mate. Here before this video got to 1000 view (just), and looking forward to watching this blow up!
Sincerely appreciated, Luke. Glad to have done some sort of iota of justice to the entire history of this game we all know and love.
when i was a kid, always saw my cousin so addictive playing fm 07/08 now im playing fm24 i understand why..the management is very realistic
yes im first i see football manager it 18 when i was search it apper world cup Football Manager 2018 Experiment Golden FM
Love this video, takes me back to being a young kid and discovering championship manager 97/98 where the obsession began.
Thank you for watching it!
My mates and I would play Tracksuit Manager, Soccer Boss and some game we had to send off by mail to get.
Then came championship Manager…
Just in time for me to totally flunk my exams.
What a game, and each instalment just got better and better, CM Italia was awesome.
My brother and I would play season after season in our rooms.
Love it mate. Loads of memories flooding back seeing those early CM screens once again 🥲
Glad to have been able to evoke some of those memories in a good way, Jack! Thank you amigo!
Been playing since 2013, absolutely love this series. Also the way you snuck in wrestling clips randomly throughout cracked me up as I love pro wrestling lol
Been a big pro wrestling person for many years as well, so it’ll sneak its way into videos here. Glad you enjoyed it!
I was not prepared to see a screenshot in this 35:42 using the small towns team that i’ve grown up my whole life in 😮
I never knew FM helped build the PHL Azkals 🇵🇭 I am Forever thankful to this game ❤
It's honestly kind of a wild story that dual nationals like the Younghusbands and Brereton Diaz, for a more recent example, have been found just via researchers being really good at their jobs and getting this info in game for players to discover.
I've been playing since CM93. I logged 2581.4 hours on FM23 but that's nothing compared to CM93, I must have 100k hours, I still play it.
That is an immense amount of hours for CM93 but I believe it, given how long the game's been out.
BRASILIAN FURY DO NOT MISS, put on a video and you're always playing the hits
I do my best, thank you for the kind words!
Thanks for taking me down memory lane, been playing since the beginning CM in the 90’s!
Thank you for watching it! I'm glad I was able to do it justice.
Love your type of videos mate are you doing a let’s play mate like from me
Thank you! Yes, I do have something already in the works for the FM24 cycle for save, have been already playing through it in game and should have the first year of it ready to go in another 2 weeks or so.
@@BrasilianFury fantastic maté you’re an inspiration mate
Watch at 1.5x speed for the bill wurtz feel
If I could speak at lightning speed like him (plus do great jingles), I’d probably get that close enough to the 15-20 minute range 🤣
I still play 01-02 to this day. Best football management game of all time.
Couldn’t agree more. There’s something special about 01/02 and the modern editions with all their bells and whistles don’t even compare. And if you want improvements and up to date squads there’s a great community that keeps the game alive and plenty free updates available.
an absolute banger already
thank you!
I played Football Manager 2008 until the computer it was installed on finally croaked in 2015.
85 seasons at the top.
When they name the stadium after you, you're doing alright.
I'll reach that mark someday. Maybe. Possibly. It's a wait and see approach lol
@@BrasilianFury Hard drive technology has improved.
You'll get your chance :D
I remember when the dots came out when swimming matches. The anticipation was insane.
Completely understandable, it must have been an experience on its own to see the engine changing drastically like that.
Love the Lorenzo Lucca shoutout. Legend
Literally carried me in FM21 and 23, forever a legend in my eyes.
@@BrasilianFury Felt like headers and set pieces were underpowered on 23. Praying for a revival of the 442 big boy tactics
As a portuguese man i'll say that its insulting you disrespect a portuguese generational legend like Tó Madeira.
Also, the judgement ost is peak implemented.
Look, it wasn't my call to delete him off the game entirely (and the dude's a legend for a reason)!
Appreciate it nonetheless.
@@BrasilianFury you're lucky you also put funky persona songs, otherwiser the Tó Madeira will get your ip
@@hugosenshida999 Always knew my taste in videogame music would pay off someday...
you should've mentioned their partnership with Watford
Yeah, definitely a few minor details I know I’ve missed - I know Miles is a lifelong supporter of them and then also the fact they still are the front sponsor for AFC Wimbledon as well
really enjoyed the video @@BrasilianFury
@@M00NF1SHXD Really appreciate that!
Really dug this one Fury, good job.
Thank you.
Its kind of inspiring to see how football manager add feature after feature while all other sports game developers tend to take features after feature from game. Great for them
great vid
thank you!
27:21 That's Tony Jameson and he's very much still around! He streams FM on Twitch and does a FM podcast called The FM Show which is a decently big podcast.
Beautiful video.
Yup, I’ve followed Tony’s stuff for a little while and wanted to give it a proper nod in the timeline, especially since the comedy special’s focus was on his Blyth Spartans save
2001/2002 championship manager at it best and still alive
really enjoyed this, great vid!
Thank you!
Been waiting on this one and it’s already a classic!
Appreciate you so much Seth

Thanks Pottsy, glad I was able to help unlock some crazy memories.
W+ great editing + this video is going viral + good jokes
How are you not famous bro this shit isbreally good
Thank you for the kind words, bro.
@@BrasilianFury you should make similar content about fm stories or even like creating a player and followin his career and documanting it like he is real
That would probably get you more views
@@zikopro7369 There's some irons in the fire for certain ideas this year, I definitely want to try some new stuff on top of the other FM stuff I've done over the past year. So yeah, keep watching this space and thank you again!
@@BrasilianFury good luck in yoyr journey hope you make it
Amazing that the 3D engine hasn’t changed that much in 10 odd years!
I have been there since the start!
It's definitely had its upgrades over the decade but it feels like SI's factored in more getting the animations and such over the graphics themselves. So it makes me interested to see how much different things will look once the Unity engine is in place next year.
Dude, if you’re noticing an uptick and views on this video, part of it is me. I’ve watched this video multiple times and I just keep coming back to it.
I fucking love this game. Nothing else comes close. Between the quality of the gameplay, The community of great people, the dank memes, and the fact that it’s helped clubs in real life, there’s nothing else like it. You remember that scene in Harry Potter at the Quidditch World Cup where he just looks at everything around him and says “I love magic.”? I love Football Manager.
CM'93 was my first of their games I think. I kinda grew out of it, but those were good times.
Hopefully this brought back a bit of those memories then. Thank you for watching!
Having played most of these versions of the game, this was a proper walk down memory lane.
You can get Kevin Toms' version of Football Manager as a mobile game. It's funny how stickmen bleeping across a 48k screen inspired the game we play today.
Great video!
I do remember seeing an article that Kevin Toms had or was bringing back his version of the game for mobile, so it's interesting to see that it happened!
Well done video man.
Jack Stainrod became a free agent (Scottish) in FM 2023, & I got him to join me in Northern Ireland. We did so well I got a job offer from Falkirk, & got him to transfer with me. Falkirk is where his famous father played IRL, I found out later. It weirded me out enough I ended the save at the end of that season 😂
Pleased to see the nod to FML, it's so sad how it became a footnote to the series.
I wasn't there for it personally but it does feel that people who were into it heavy back then really enjoyed it.
@@BrasilianFuryFor my money, it's the best edition of FM- I was easily playing 10+ hours a day of it. There were so many features that haven't (yet) made their way into FM, it sounds like a fever dream describing some of them. They just didn't quite find a way to make it work financially, or fix the issue of how newcomers could catch up to someone who'd been around a bit longer.
I think championship manager 06 was the first one I played and Frank Lampaed scored 70 goals from midfield. I’ll never forget.
Definitely some madness on having someone score that much for you but it can certainly go down.
Been playing (on and off) since CM 97/98 on ms-dos back in the day. Good video. Would like to know more about the eidos/SI split if that's something you'd be interested in covering.
The details on the Eidos/SI split are still very mum between all parties involved but it just came down to Eidos wanting to do their own thing with the IP and a whole new studio while SI wanted to keep their code/resources/independence. At the end, SEGA's been definitely a much better partner.
I learned a lot out of this as someone who's newer to the game, so thank you Fury! Looking forward to the FM24 save.
Glad to hear it Cassidy! Thank you as always!
for f***sake! i jumped out of my chair cause *knock-knock*-sound in the middle of the night :DD Great vid! I have been hooked to FM since 2004 and still wasting all my spare time with the series.
Sorry about that one, those knocks are...eerily deceiving, depending on the time of night you watch it. Appreciate the kind comment!
I remember the very first championship manager that a friend at school had and it blew my mind. I had to buy the next game championship manager 93 and I’ve been playing it ever since.
Brilliant video, really enjoyed the history. 👏 Started playing it from champ man 2 still playing now
What a man what a content
Deserves more than this
Keep going ⬆️
Grande vídeo mano abraço de Portugal
Ps: Tó Madeira is a Legend of the beautifull game
Um abraço e muito obrigado!
I still play CM2 today. Was quite interesting reading up on all the background stuff going on that us end users weren't so clued up on. Great video.
Been playing since Fm05, after I read about it in a German football magazine. Kinda forgot about all the years without it coming out officially in Germany, no German translation (though a fan-forum would take care of that for every new version) as well as the missing licenses. What a great video with lots of nostalgia moments
So I know that this video doesn’t cover every single wonderkid or key player in every one of these games and that even the odd extra feature or two from a specific CM/FM game might have been missed, so let’s have you sound off here - who was your favorite player in a specific CM/FM game and why?
Exequiel Zeballos over at Boca Juniors did some amazing work for me during my FM21 save, so I'll always have a special spot for him in my heart.
Kim Kallstrom and Freddy Guarin on Championship manager 03/04 I think, Both ended up having decent enough real life careers.
Now unity Is dead
I feel like the introduction of player roles and duties would have deserved a mention. Otherwise a very enjoyable and even informative video!
@@yannickbaken4831 Yup, that's one of those I missed out on mentioning during the scripting/recording process, I'll take the blame on it. Glad you enjoyed it though!
What a watch. Brilliant work dude
Sensational...brought back so many memories. Great work!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Blur are phenominal... That was a win-win right there. I knew the guys behind FM must have taste.
This was amazing, thanks a lot! You really put a lot of effort into this.
Thank you for watching it and I appreciate the kind comment as well
Great video! Brings back alot of great childhood memories. first ever championship manager I played was 93. Still remember my first ever signing Dean Saunders from Aston villa to Man utd.
Glad to have been able to bring back good memories with this one, thank you so much for watching it!
To do this day cm0102 is the only one that im playing, despite it being older than me. Thanks to my dad.

Love this video, appreciate your work
Thank you so much.
The Football Manager Ruined My Life guy has a podcast now: the FM show. I’m new to FM, and this was great knowing where it came from.
Yup, Tony has been doing this for a while, love his work with the FM Show and his streams as well.
CM99/00 was my first one. I spent every hour not in school on that game.
97/98 was my entry point to the games. So so many memories!
Awesome video, learned a lot about the history auf FM :)
The early Captain Tsubasa II tune made my day! Great video, and excellent BGM you picked all around it.
Thank you (and so glad other folks through this have recognized Captain Tsubasa popping in here and there as well)
Great vid. So much nostalgia as I first got one of their games when I was 4 in the mid 90s. Plus all the pro wrestling clips were amazing. Loved seeing Orange Cassidy as I’m listening to someone remind me of all the cool history behind one of my favourite game series of all time. Kudos on the video, excellent work.
Thank you so much! The FM Player to pro wrestling fan pipeline (and vice versa) seems to be rather massive, so I'm glad the crossover is working. lol
this convinced me to try fm lmaooo great vid!!
Thank you and good luck on the journey!
absolute jumpscare when moon reaching stars played, did not expect that on a fm video at all
ok persona music throughout this is top tier
@@FuukaSweep gotta represent one of my favorite JRPG series - and the fact it's a SEGA published set of games nowadays works well with the SEGA era of FM games
"You do have friends don't you?" No, thanks to Football Manager.
I feel that feel completely bro.
Had the original on the Atari ST, played it to death. Played pretty much every version since (FM, when it became FM, we don't talk about the post SI, Eidos rubbish)
Oh wow, so you've seen it all happen from the very beginning. That's awesome!
This is great stuff. Although it did make me realise how I old I am…
To be fair, the game has been around for almost as long as I've been alive, so for what it's worth...I had to grasp my own mortality too while making it. Thank you for the kind words, it means a ton coming from one of the OG's in the scene!
I got into this series super late and start with Fm18 sadly, I'd hate to have think if I found it around 2000
Don't feel bad, I started with FM21 on my end and a part of me almost fears what that obsession would have done to me if I discovered it any earlier lol
Indeed haha I just put in 2500 hours into 23 alone@@BrasilianFury
Absolutely adore this video, you’ve earned a sub friend
Thank you!
Loooooooove FM24 new match and graphics engines. Its soo smooth! Good shit from SI for teasing us this, now I cant wait for FM25 ran by Unity!
Been having the same thoughts on it as well, it runs seamlessly.
It’s so crazy how much history this game has I only found out about fm a year or two ago 😂
I only got into it myself during the FM21 cycle, so I get it.
Nice video , good editing and amazing story telling
Thank you so much.
Great video man!

Really loved the videos ❤❤
Thank you so much 😀
Been playing since 93 on the Amiga. My buddy and me used to have sleepovers over the weekend to binge seasons, it took like an hour and half to load in the next season!
It was when I played CM 93 on my dads work Thinkpad that I knew the Amiga's days were numbered; new season loaded in 5 seconds flat!
From the early reviews I could find, it seemed all the bad ones were from folks playing it on the Amiga rather than on anything else - this just seems to prove that the machine just couldn't handle anything with as much data. Thank you for watching!
@@BrasilianFuryYip makes sense. We tolerated it because we loved the game so much, but even the teletext results screen that scrolled by after every match took a good few minutes.
Anyone else get a copy of CM2 or CM italia from a mate for Amiga or ST and have to call them when you wanted to play, to ask them what word was on page 36, line 4 word, 6 of the manual?
This feels oddly specific 😂
Just popped so hard for Toru Yano!
THE PRODUCERS WORDS ARE ABSOLUTE! YANO TO-RU! 🤷🏼♂
Man, the nostalgic hit I got from this is amazing
Thank you for watching it!

Muito obrigado, tive que fazer aquela referência de alguma maneira e estou bem orgulhoso que deu certo!
yo what a great recap sir!
Thank you!
Ive played the original Championship Manager Italia in 1992… and a few weeks ago ive bought Football Manager 24. In between ive missed 7 or 8 editions.
love this:)
Champ Man 97/98 was my 1st and never looked back
wow, insane video bro keep it up
Thank you!
I did not expect to hear my country in this video lol. But the Phil and James Younghusband story was indeed true and they even encouraged Neil Etheridge (former PL keeper for Fulham and Cardiff), their former teammate in the Chelsea Academy, to join the team.
A few years later, Philippine Football would upset South East Asian giants Vietnam in semifinals of the AFF Suzuki Cup. We even qualified for the AFC Asian Cup (Euros counterpart of Asia). Phil Younghusband would be the top goalscorer for the national team and earned celebrity status in the country. Neil Etheridge would be regarded as the best goalkeeper in the history of the national team.
All that because of FM.
It's an incredible story altogether and the fact a game with this sort of database can cause certain things like that to happen is astounding still.
Vídeo brabo, chefe. Continue o bom trabalho
Valeu amigo!
New subscriber. Awesome video. I played CM since the 1990s...and still going strong in FM 2024.😂❤🎉
I adopted it in FM21 admittedly but got to hunt down and play a bit of the older CM games while researching/prepping for this one and the evolution of it all still floors me. Excited to be here with everyone else now 😂😂😂
