One of the band's reps came to get them ready for a sound-check. The cool thing is that they insisted on finishing up my interview.
They are nice people and they care! Even until today! You should definitely show this to them, privately if you can through e mail or something.

They were so young, unexperienced and full of energy hopes and dreams. It's simply adorable
I love this so much, never seen it before but it shows their personalities so well....Jordan getting bored and walking off, Joe grabbing the mic, Danny dancing and talking healthy, Donnie talking lots and Jon just being gorgeous in the background. Our boys are all still the same way today, and I love them for that! NKOTB forever xxxx

The New Kids on the Block actually talked about this on some interview they did and said that this was actually their first concert for some of them that they attended.
Dorchester, where they grew up, is a rough part of Boston, with a significant black population. Donnie, especially, always had an appreciation for that culture.
Tre404 true Dorchester is a good percentage of black my stepdad is Maurice starr s brother....he said the nkotb we re extremely ghetto for 5 whiteboys......donnie said in an interview they we re never uncomfortable around crowds like apollo or soul train etc they we re used too being around black ppl etc

How awesome to be related to such a legend like Maurice Starr! How is Maurice Starr doing? I hadn't heard anything about him since his stroke about 2 yrs. ago when New Kids had their Hanging Tough 30th Anniversary. Can you give him a message for me?
@@ilovenoodles7483 I know he was sick and in hospital several years ago (3-4 years ago), New Kids even visited him. I hope he's doing better. 🙏🏻

Oki I knew Jordon and Jonathan when they were like 7 and 8 yrs old back in 1978.. I was a foster kid in their home in Dorchester,Mass... I''ll never forget theirs pony named June in their barn in the back of their mad Hugh House on 10 Melville Ave. Dorchester,Mass.

Donnie mentions their Top 10 album toward the beginning of the interview, and of course, they didn't have a hit album in 1987. This is definitely late `88, and it's most likely that the guys were fudging on their ages just a little, as a PR move.

This interview was done just before Thanksgiving 1988(Thanksgiving that year was 25th November 1988). So maybe it was a PR move but most of the boys lied about their age in that interview. Jon would have been 19 almost 20 years old(Jon date of birth is 29th November 1968) Danny and Donnie would have been 19 years old(Danny date of birth is 14th May 1969 and Donnie date of birth is 17th August 1969) Jordan would have been 18 years old(Jordan date of birth is 17th May 1970). The only one who gave their true age was Joey as he was 15 almost 16 years old(Joey date of birth is 31st December 1972). Other then that I loved the interview because you got to see their personalities. I love seeing early interviews.

LOL!!!! They have not changed much Donnie still filrts with the girls and looks really good doing it. Danny talking about eating right. Jon just being quiet like always. Jordan did calm down a little bite. Joe still looks like the baby to me anyways. This was good so very proud of them and i am very proud to be called a Blockhead.
