It's going to be breaks malfunctioned cuz if you look at the video and it showed that lever in Middle that should raise red flag
The controls in other cabs are cutout when the lead cab is turned on. The lever in the unoccupied cabs have absolutely nothing to do with anything on the train.
That was a non-operating cab, so no, that had nothing to do with it.
