  • So on we go with our food tasting. This one was a surprise as there is Chorba in more than this country, you can get it actually in most of the Arab countries along the Mediterranean. But let´s try this version, is this maybe the best one I have ever tasted? Certainly has its own taste, that is for sure. Please do watch the full video and give me a like and leave me a comment. Do let me know if you know Chorba and what you think about it.

Please don't skip the adds as this is what keeps us running, give the video a like and maybe even a comment if it is not too much to ask for as it then will be more present in todays CZcams algorithm.

I am glad that you have finally found the kind of restaurants that serve real tunisian dishes and not just fast food.
Tunisians eat chorba every day in Ramadhan to break the fast and as a first dish. It is gentler on the stomach than your typical couscous.
There is at least another type of chorba called, chorba freak, and please don't freak out, it is called so to refer to the noodles it is made of. Most probably, it is spelled frick.
Final note, tunisians eat a lot, and I mean a lot of bread. We even eat couscous and pasta with bread 😮

we call this chorba "lsen asfour" which translates to "bird's tongue" soup or in frensh soupe "langues d'oiseau", because of it's shape, it looks like a small bird's tongue. we have an other chorba called chorba frik or tchich, you should try it too, very delicious.

Personally, I eat it lablabi-style, I cut some of the bread and put it in the bowl to absorb the sauce. Shorba comes from arabic verb sharaba which means to drink referring to the liquid nature of this dish. I don't know if some people do literally drink it straight from the bowl.
