@Sandra I'm a 46 year old widow of almost 12 years..actually Jan 21 will be 12 years. Gil was 41 & obviously a few years older than me. We were together 7 years..although it wasn't long & we had no children together (I have 2 girls from my previous marriage..both newlyweds..they're now 24 & 25 and 1 Grandson who is 4 & the love of my life!) I was so sad & depressed when Gil passed. He had a heart attack at 41..& passed in his sleep. I am now married to a wonderful man & we have an almost 9 yr old son..quite a surprise but a blessing nonetheless...I hope you are blessed with someone great bc you are still young. God Bless
Audrey, you are a special young lady. I am a nurse who just retired. Worked in skilled nursing for 10 years. The elderly truly appreciate gifts, cards, and visits, especially from young people. You'd be surprised how many people in nursing homes don't get visitors. It's important to them to know they aren't forgotten. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

the holidays are hard.. I lost so many loved ones in December... My son is having his toe amputated soon and we are not using our heat this year, it is 43 degrees right now, and we are bundled up and have blankets, mittens in, extra socks and we have decided to just give each other one small gift this year.. God is good.. Please keep my son on your prayer list. He once was 350 lbs, and now is 192.. all on his own, I am so proud.. He has some disabilities, but are hopeful that by removing this toe that is causing him so much discomfort.. He will be feeling better.. Merry Christmas... Many blessings in the coming year.. I was a CNA for years! But thanks to our business I was able to come home and be a Free-mom! But while working at the nursing home, I felt that they were all my grandparents and took care of them as they were! I truly loved what you did for them I’m sure they enjoy it! They have great advice especially the 100+ yr olds!

We love your channel have been supporting you for several years. On 12/6 my husband was rushed to hospital with a major life threatening situation. The people in ER said he had about a 5% chance of survival. After 2 different operations over the past 2 weeks- thank the lord he will be coming home tomorrow. Local Happy Peoples- Love watching your videos and we can relate. My fiance works with the elderly population and loves it. We were without heat for a week getting our new boiler installed and now have been without water for 3 weeks waiting for the weather to get above -10 to drill a new well. I have been a RN for 35 years, most of that time I worked at Nursing Homes, and assisted living facilities. So rewarding, but the holidays are difficult for many who live there. I am sure your thoughfulness for them at the assisted living facility made their day a bit brighter.
My daughter would have been 32 years old this month. She was a CNA.

I work in a nursing home and rehab center as an LPN and started out as a PCA a long time ago. I think it’s amazing Audrey that you feel so passionate to do those things for the elderly. It takes a special person to do this kind of work and I really admire you dear. We decorated each floor for our residents for Christmas and seeing their faces light up seeing all the Christmas decorations is priceless and heart felt. Thank you Somers family for sharing your life and all you do!

My sister is a paraprofessional, and she teaches at a school where the children live at the facility, this one young lady has been there for 4 years, she's never had a real Christmas, my sister was able to ask to bring her to our house for Christmas, and her social worker said yes!! We are all excited to have her ,& to give her a very special day! My sister is over the moon they said yes, because she has a special relationship with this young lady. Please be kind this holiday season as there are those who are not as fortunate to celebrate the day with family or friends. Merry Christmas & a blessed New Year 🎄⛄🎄❤️

Audrey I agree. we have an 87 year old woman in our small church and God has put it upon my heart to help her during this winter with love, money and goodies and a home cooked meal, she has meals on wheels, but not on Sundays. We all need to help one another
You guys are great! i live in a rural, very poor community and we need people like you! So many suffer from poverty and your kind of kindness is so appreciated. My husband and I also have worked our whole lives in healthcare. Keep encouraging Audrey to work as a CNA. She may find her way to become a nurse or doctor. A very worthy profession, whatever she chooses.

Our family lives in a tristate area and we also looked for baby girls formula in WV. So glad someone in CA was able to find some formula. Congratulations Audrey on wanting to be a CNA. My wife started out as a CNA and 35 years later has worked her way up to a Family Nurse Practitioner. You will do great in nursing Audrey. You have a heart just like Jesus.
Audrey I think you would make a wonderful CNA.And you're right they are special. I will never forget my late grandmother whom I was very close with. Everyday after school I would look forward to coming home and there she would be sitting at the table waiting for me to play that game of cards or Yahtzee. She made the best roast beef dinner and always make sure she made you that birthday cake every year. She sewed us robes and shawls as well as made us afghan blankets and the most beautiful needlepoint pictures you will ever see.💗
I lost my Grandfather who I live with.. was a second dad.. unexpectedly on Wednesday of last week. I've always loved Christmas but going through such grief at this time of year is really hard. It's hard to watch families together when your whole world just suddenly changed. Sending love to all those also grieving during this time of year. it helps to know we're not alone. xoxo

(Local in NP) My mom was a CNA for over a decade back in the day, its a hard job but very rewarding. 😊 We have a 200gallon tank and we've been switching from wood and oil especially during this -40 weather. Stay warm! 🔥

I was blessed to win the fuel giveaway last year and gift it to my brother and sister in law after he lost his job. We just moved into our first home the first part of October this year and filled our tank the next week. I had NO idea how quickly fuel ran out and naively thought I'd be fine well after tax season. Well...my husband dipped the tank yesterday and we are under 100 gallons. This fuel giveaway would be such a blessing! This past Saturday we were blessed to see our 12 yr old grandson perform in his piano 🎹 recital which was held at an Assisted Living Facility here in Louisville, KY! What a joy when his teacher played at the end leading all in attendance- both the families of the performers AND the residents- in a few Christmas Carols! 🎶 I’m sure it was the highlight of everyone’s day! It certainly was mine!!

When you said you know there’s some having hard times due to whatever. Yeah I lost my husband over 10 years ago and I’m only 55 and I’m alone in an old house ive downsized to and still a work In progress with no help. My kids live very far away with my grandkids. I’ve spent years and years all alone. Ive not done holidays in so long. Where I’m going is, when you said you have to have joy and keep going (paraphrasing) at the end of that- thank you! You are right. Being negative wont help you get on with life. I needed to hear that! Sounds silly and simple- but your words made a difference to me.

We just came back from WV where we attended the funeral of my favorite auntie. She was like a second mom to me and my family. Christmas will not be the same but knowing she is not suffering anymore and now resides in heaven with family.
Local - My family lives in North Pole and they are dealing with much sorrow with the death of their 19-year-old daughter, loss of their family pets and chickens, and all the contents of their home in a house fire in November. I’m in Florida missing my kids and grands very much and trying hard to cope with this loss by making treats and baking for friends. It you chose them in your giveaway, it would be wonderful if you split the gift with another needy family.

I started out working with mentally delayed adults and then became a caregiver CNA for adults with Alzheimer's. It's amazing to form such a bond with my friends while I care for them.
Local here if you count someone who bumps between Healy and Fairbanks! I watch your family each night that you upload before bed. While i've seen you all around in person at Costco in town, i've always been too chicken to say hello. But I hope you all have a Merry Christmas! Audrey, you can get your CNA while in High School depending on the state. Eventually get your LPN license and then go after your RN and then your Masters for Nursing. I am a CNA and work in “Memory Care” for the Elderly.

I love your whole family!!!! You guys are such a great wonderful example for adults and kids. There are so many mean people in this world so it's good to find a whole family that is so selfless and thinks of everyone. This year has been very hard for my family and I. My husband didn't work for 4-5 months and barely started working at a warehouse while we had a cancer scare with my 9-year-old daughter.

You are so right this year my holidays are not merry and bright. My sister passed away in July, my grandparents passed away one in March and one in October and a week ago my aunt passed away and I loss two very special friends since November. Every day is so hard but it’s one day at a time is all I can do. I love your videos and watching your family grow, it brings joy into my life.❤️

My grandmother lived in the same house her whole life, until it was time for some help. It scared her to be in assisted living and she passed within a week. I understand assisted living, but some people if it's possible would like to be able to stay in their or with family like your grandmother.
Moved from Southeasts Alaska, a couple years ago. So far love Northpole and Fairbanks a lot. Heating fuel hits hard for a single family income. But very thankful for the PFD this year to allow us to fill our fuel tank up this year.
