- Corn Silage Harvest 2021 at Trackside Farms
In this video I am out in the field with Wuertemberger Chopping out of Richmond Indiana as they custom chop corn for this farm near Versailles Ohio. In this video there is several ground and aerial shots of all the action through the course of a day as they chop the corn in the field and haul it back to the silage pile at the farm and push and pack the silage where it will be stored and fed to the farms dairy herd through the next year. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
I watched the hole 40 minutes of the video. I feel like a farmer now.
Plowing , chopping etc is like poetry in motion . As the kids would say “ satisfying “. Awesome video man.
Such excellent footage, yes, of all you cover, silage is my favorite, can almost smell that sweet smell, spectacular!
I love them genisis tractors we have two of hats ur own and the 8970 is by far my favorite tractor we have
Some real nice drone shots of the big blue tractors grooming the silage pile at night. Thanks Mike!
Always impressed with the amount of corn forage harvesters can consume. Excellent video Mike!!
I was on a 5 day fishing trip when the corn was taken off at this farm. I thought I had missed the action, but not so when I found this video. I should have known you would be there. I live to the west of the farm, a few houses south of the railroad, so I get see a lot of farming at Trackside farm.
Another stellar video from that man, Mike Less. Those Penta dump wagons are pretty nice. Thanks Mike for all the work you put into your videos!!
Mike,
Thanks for another great video.🙋♂️
Hands down, you have the best farming video's on You Tube.
I especially like the Wheat Harvesting and Corn Harvesting video's. I do enjoy the field preparation video's, also.
Thanks
Another first-Claas-chopping-video! 😉
Thanks a lot! 😊👍🏻
Absolutely amazing footage Mike👍
Great video with nice machines! Corn Silage here also started!
Corn chopping time is pretty nice👍😁 seeing the chopper moving trough the corn is very cool to see😉👍
Great video, Thanks Mike..... keep up the great work!!
Great awesome video mike, love that claus chopper , looks like the harvestor is running hot , I see the back door open to let the hot air out , pile will be huge when it’s all chopped
You are the Mike Less thank you for your videos
Those class foragers are the best of the best.
Beautiful video Mike! Here in Italy corn silage finished two week ago
I hope you reach 100,000 soon.
Thanks
@@farmhandmike what are you going to for your 100,000 subscribers special
@@farmhandmike and can you please show us your 100,000 silver play botton award when you get it
That Mike Less guy on CZcams isn't too bad at making corn silage videos. Keep up the good work.
Great Vid Mike
Great video Mike. I do like seeing the blue tractors as there are very few anywhere remotely close to where I am in MI.
My guess is the chopper was probably starting to run hard so they open the back up to lead to more airflow that's a normal thing to do I know that's what I would do LOL
Fantastic video Mike. Corn silage is just starting her in eastern Québec
Awesome Video! 😍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Great, Well done.
Great video! Mike
Great video Mike 😎
Great video! Blue power!! 💪
Boy I hope you caught a uni system running always like watching the UNI
Nice video Mike. This is my sleeping pill tonight. This brings back memories when I was at the feedyard. We had 2 bunker silos. 1 for silage and the other for corn. We used a D7 Cat to push and pack the silage. How much horsepower does that forage harvester have?
those grouser blades are the best on the market.
Hello Mike Chopping silage is one of my favorite videos especially when you also include the work done at the silage storage area . Do you know if the chopper has auto steer or is the operator is that good because the header is always taking a full swath ??
See machines running open all the time when its hot but maybe it was cause of your love tap🤣
Hi Mike Any kind of harvesting video's I enjoy. Great job!!!!
Silage trailers need the higher side like the potato trucks have!
This corn silage is getting fermented in those huge piles, or do you need special fermenting towers for that?
Good morning Mike,
Great videos! I wanted to see if it would be possible to use some of your silage video for some of our marketing efforts?
Great video, always wondered how they made cow food. Questions, ballpark - how many acres did they chop? How many semi's do they need to move all the equipment when the next job isn't close by?
Probably don't use semi's . JCB tractors are fast can be up to 65 miles/hour
Hi Mike Are Ohio crops better than usual because of all the rain.
Love your video's. How do the chopper crews charge for their services. It seems that they have a lot of money tied yp in equipment.
I thought this was the uk when I seen the JCB lol
I have no idea why I’m watching this but it’s like a well choreographed dance just with very large equipment. Is silage always corn or can it be other crops as well?
Several other crops can be chopped into silage too like grass hay, alfalfa, sorghum Sudan grass, wheat and other crops.
Any idea about how much silage is needed acreage wise vs number of dairy cows to feed them?
No I really don't know
two JCB's that feels weird, are they common over in the states?
I like Mike less videos on CZcams.
From the imperial co California.
Hi
I love these videos. As an IT engineer. I have a question.
Why they are chopping the corn? Isn't that corn good for picking ( _human consuming_ ) ? Is something that needs to be done due season time?
That corn is not used for human consumption. It is grown and chopped to feed cattle.

Thank you.
Have a good night! 🤗
The varieties (hybrids) of corn used to feed dairy cows are specifically developed to be chopped green and maximize the feed value of kernels, stalk, and leaves. The forage harvester contains a high speed rotating drum holding many blades to chop the plants into small pieces. The harvester also sends the plants between a set of rollers to crack the corn kernels into pieces. The kernels are hard field corn.
@@markam306 wow that's amazing! Last month I started develop interest on farming videos. Due to the fact that the MLB had a game (Chicago White Sox vs. New York Yankees) at the Field of Dreams (Dyersville, Iowa). Corn field are so beautiful. This type of videos are so relaxing. I am a young man (29 years old) and I love watching this content. That connection with Nature.
PS: When I was a child (around age 7) I used to play a game (Cruis'n' USA) In that game there are two races. One in Iowa and one in Indiana both races are on a two lane highway with corn fields and barns at the sides, I never understood the connections until now.

I’ve been hooked on agriculture videos for several years now. It started with the channels that feature equipment ‘bigtractorpower’ and ‘Mike Less’. Branched out into the videos where a farmer or farm family carries the camera around to show you his work day. Took me a while to put my finger on the ‘magic’ of these videos. Finally realized that unlike regular television, these are real people doing real work. Every channel has their own style which I appreciate.
A word of advice, you may want to avoid monkey videos from Cambodia and Hong Kong. That’s a whole ‘nother addiction.
Hi, How many tons do you get per acre?
Since they grow corn instead of grass, does that mean these dairy cows never are outside to graze?
Most dairy farms no longer graze these days. They are fed a total mixed ration instead.
@@farmhandmike I think that is very sad and puts me off milk. In England there are still family dairy farms and to see how happy the cows are to be released in Spring to graze happily in the sun is wonderful. They move them about to different fields and then harvest grass for silage. Our farms have gotten too big.
how many acares can thay chop per hour
Easily 10 ; on a field with long straight rows like in the video , more likely 15 á 18 .
✌️🇧🇷✌️
How can a person with no farming experience get a job on a farm in Montana?
Quero vem portuqeis
Hello sir, how are you, do you want workers? I am looking for a job. Thank you👍👍👍
Why anyone would buy New Holland i'le never know 🤔
Интересно У вас есть трактор К 700
Blue tractors:
- with Ford engines = good
- with Cummins engines = great
- now with Fiat engines = no thanks
Just my opinion.
Fuck this farm, i go to Miami
I don’t understand what going to Miami has to do with this farm or video? Please explain.
