The thing about it is i quited so many times BC I keeps getting pushed off the road I tried 1 more time I got put in first but..... 15% the stupid 300+ players keeps ramming me and try making me wreck so I not doing any more grand races I was on the track is just randoms in a 300+ thinks they fast in crap literally takes me out just to win
Another thing is to stay clear of those destructible stone walls as much as possible, as they murder your momentum! 😭

Nothing infuriates me more then ding dongs dive bombing in corners or my car (specifically racing or alpha GP's) just barely touching a bit of dirt and I lose speed and spin out 🤣
yea that seems to be pretty common in grand races
After a couple hundred grand races complete. Noticed players:
-Full throttle into everything & anything.
-Focus too much on trying to ram each-other off the road instead of Driving.
"Stay on track" , *first turn slowing down to take it nicely*
*other players go BRRRRR NUKE*
my main frustration with this game is how it rewards bad/dirty driving
Yeah like rally races and rally raid it’s faster to wall ride and if you mess up you can position your car to be in the middle of the road to slow others down, I don’t do that but I see people do it all the time and it’s so annoying. Or people literally don’t move at the start line on purpose or they just turn into your car at the beginning of the race for no reason at all. If someone is going slow they’ll cut you off too and if you hit the back of them it completely slows you down but doesn’t move them out the way or anything it’s super frustrating.

My guide to not suck at Grand Races
1: *_SURVIVE TURN-1_*
Forget trying to gain positions. Turn 1 is where the deepest, darkest, depths of the Shadow Realms are. EVERYONE will come crashing into you and your objective is to AVOID THE INCOMING CARS. Fail to do this and you will be bullied to last place. (And God help you if you start off in first place)
2: Pay attention to the map
Especially in Alpha Grand Prix. You're moving fast and there's little time to react to what is coming next, even with a racing line. Glance at the map so you can see whats coming so you don't end up in the Shadow Realm.
3: Do NOT crash into any objects.
Unlike The Crew 2, actually colliding with objects chips off your speed bit by bit and can ruin your chance to claim positions especially in head to head battles. Even moreso with the stone walls. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO NOT TOUCH THE STONE WALLS.
4: Risk a yellow racing line
A yellow racing line means "proceed with caution", not "slow down". If you're taking your corners right, following the racing line and paying attention to the map, then you'd be shocked how many positions you can gain by trusting your gut and going flat out on a yellow racing line.
5: Be patient
The opportunity will come where you can overtake. Don't rush it or else say hi to the Shadow Realms.
6: Take the Plane route
They're just generally safer and you're more likely to eat up some positions while you laugh at the peasants below you ramming and crashing like the lil rats they are.
7: Look out for any shortcuts
This is your BIGGEST WIN FACTOR for the grand race. Keep your eyes peeled out for an incoming shortcut. DO NOT MISS IT. You can catch up to pole positions with this method.
8: Save your boost and slipstream
Also a massive win factor for the grand race. Its basically your ERS and DRS on steroids. Dont use it when at corners, ONLY on straights, hence ESPECIALLY attempting a quick overtake against a slower car. If not, then hang behind the car and slipstream to protect your position.
9: Air Boost off the ramps
This is EXTREMELY underrated. Air Boost is overpowered and launches you ahead of everyone especially in Rally and Rally Raids. Use this with caution when using road vehicles though as you can risk boosting into the dreaded Shadow Realms.
10: Forge your own racing line in Rally
Once you're rallying, don't trust the racing line because no one else will. Theres too much free space and innovation that the racing line can actually COST you positions. Take a different route to keep up.

It’s not the car it’s the driver. Staying on the track and doing gutter turning is the best strategy. You don’t always need the best cars to win. It makes it easier but it’s all in the skill.
some cars have ridiculously low top speeds though. But driver skill is by far the biggest factor with a good enough car
Sometimes it is unfortunately the car, decided to test out a bmw touring car for the racing segment of a grand race which happened to be the last one, however the thing had a slow acceleration and was a literal boat so i was forced to take corners slower than others and ended up 5th with good driving after being comfortably 1st entering the racing segment
I do enjoy that you help and encourage drivers to get better. It doesn't come off as condescending or anything, and that helps boost moral, though here you seem a bit annoyed with randoms probably doing dumb shit lol.
Always trying to help 🙌🙌🙌 And the randoms have always annoyed me. That has never changed 😂 I just see a lot of 🤡🤡🤡 advice going around about "use this car cuz it's meta" (not even a month into the game) when people's problem is not the car, it's the fact that they don't know how to drive properly.
@TheGoliath I've always been the type to just using cars I genuinely love, even when going against top names like Bool, Tempest, Crazy_Dome, Blob, etc back in NFS.
I know certain cars are better than others, but I feel players would enjoy the game and be willing to do better if they use cars they actually like. Maybe.
Using the Evo or STi makes me want to learn how they work, know when it's best to brake, the best line for the car and all that jazz.
Showing your audience you're still crazy with the stock cars, now that I'm writing all this, is brilliant motivation, lol. Now, when I play Motorfest, I'll be more confident in my Evo VI 😆
I try to avoid hitting the walls and stone barriers but it’s not easy. I use my brakes but it’s hard to tell how much to use the brakes sometimes. I hit them going around turns but I guess I don’t apply enough pressure sometimes because it’s hard for me to know how much pressure to apply on the brakes in each area so, I normally let off the gas going into turns first. I never win but I race the best I can do
Nothing worse then being on the podium and get knocked back to 20th by a drunk driver

( new sub) After having played the Grand Race for the very first time yesterday ( my average finish was only 10th) then I woke up this morning and this is the first video I saw on CZcams all I can say is thank you. Your simple advice will help me a great deal. My takeaway is when you simply said stay on the road, boost tops, and then your braking advice was spot on. I would be interested in seeing you do a react video to a novice player pointing out Grand Race dos and don'ts and then a react to a more skilled player. I laughed when I saw you pick the 918 thats my dream Porsche and the one I use in the game. Can you suggest a good Rally vehicle I am making do with my EV Hummer but its a bit too loose?
Hello, welcome to the channel. I haven't thought about reacting to a novice player do grand races. I'll think on that🤔 For Rally, the Citroën C3, Ford Fiesta and Mini Cooper S All4 are good picks for rally. The Hummer EV just doesn't have the top speed to keep up with the other cars.

Next time you are ahead, have a peak with the rear camera..... It's a madness!
Grand race is all about strategy in when and how much boost you use, bump drafting to brake the pack and well stay on the track and if you do all that you should have no issues in getting top 5 (from personal experiences)

Still getting rammed off if you brake early, people don't know how to brake. Sometimes player don't give me enough space, they're way too close behind me, get way too close to each other have a chance of fudge up one of us or both...
The cars I use. Make people mad af and I race like you and I’ve raced over 50 times maybe the first 15 I was learning the game but after that I’m always 1-5 racing clean and smooth is the key !

i have 3 podium finishes, first second and 3rd, on average i get at least a top 10 finish, the amount of times people have rammed me off the road when i have a run on them annoys me, i myself did a stint in sim racing for several months, i did surprisingly well at it online

What traction settings are you using? Because even my racecars drift like hell lol. Normaly i would race without traction but in this game i got it on sport..
Most of the fast drivers all use the same : ABS on / ESP off / TCS comfort (TCS+) / Drift Assist - Sport. In freeroam you can do whatever, but in Grand Race you need that traction, seen most races are on wet roads.
meta cars are a thing, its just they only make you go slightly faster, but the balance is great so as long as you drive well your chillin, except for drift, supercars seem to have way more grip and speed
i did 5-6 grand races when i started to see what its like and the same patern every where at the start big collision at the first second sharp turn if you dont spin out and you are between 5 and 10th place
tbh better cars also goes a long way too, but the fact that you could do this with begginer cars just shows how insanely skilled you are

How is your steering so smooth? Do you use wheelmode? My steering is always slightly delayed or very twitchy
I also deal with the delayeed steering in this game and its fucking annoying! Especially during fast corners and your car refuses to turn correctly 🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️

I started getting 10th to 4th place by taking my own time. Yes people wall ride to catch up but I actually race at my own pace. I use to try and use nos to catch up but people clearly can’t drive and they constantly ram.
Can you help with sliding vehicles? What I mean is my vehicles tend to slide all the time. Around corners even on the highway where the turns aren't that bad ? I play on PS5 .

I've done so many grand races and ultimately just staying away from people paid off what I'm gonna do is get a steering wheel mainly for gran turismo but I enjoy motorfest so I'll likely use it on that too. I feel like alot of these people who play motorfest need to go through the licenses on gran turismo 7.
Also make sure your upgrades affix stats are appropriate for the event

I have nerve damage in my left arm causing my left thumb, index and middle fingers to not work correctly so I use auto, I've managed a couple of 3rd places and I WILL get a win as my skill improves.
The top 1/2 is strong enough never noss during a gear change 👍💪

Breaking line is broken in this game, I turned it off. The biggest problem I have with the grand races is the couner steering feels off or doesn't apply at all.
My main problem is that most people ram into each other when i find chill lobby its easy

The porsche 918 edition car , is significantly better than the base bone stock 918, since it's a wide body it handles better, and yes wide body makes a difference, with handling.
There is also The Wider Tire width vanities those also make a big difference

You can honestly use whatever car for the grand and win, I won a Street 2/Racing/Hypercar one and triple Huracan'd the race. Meta doesn't even matter. Just try not to get bashed around in the beginning too much and know your braking points. EZ podiums 99% of the time
