- Transformers Jetfire Siege Review and Transformation!! As a fan of the original transformers growing up, Jetfire was one of my favourites. In the cartoon, he was huge. He was the first Deception to switch sides and join the Autobots, and at least for a few episodes was integral in transporting the autobots, being one of the few of them that could fly. What made in more interesting was his name... was he Jetfire or Skyfire? The toy was Jetfire, and in the cartoon, he was Skyfire. To add more to the confusion, the Cartoon and the toy looked nothing alike! The issue arose when Hasbro bought the license for the toy. The toy is essentially a repainted Robotech VF-1S Super Valkyrie. But just as Transformers was making it big in North America, Robotech was being translated and making waves here too. So although they had the toy rights, it looks like they could not use the same toy as it was for the show, and so Jetfire Toy, became Skyfire in the Show and comic books. Don't get me wrong, I loved the toy (my brother had one) and I loved the character on the show, but they weren't exactly the same... at all. This Siege Jetfire, is impressive. It looks like the character in the cartoon and in my opinion the best version of Jetfire in terms of representing what he looked like in the cartoon. Kudos to the team who figured out this and I'm sure it was not easy. The Robot form looks bang on to the cartoon and so does the ship. It is not the easiest transformer to transform, so I recruited my son to help me with this video. One of my favourite transformers toys right here. Enjoy. a few weeks ago, I planned on transforming G1 Powermaster Optimus Prime and it started to break apart. Has anyone ever experienced that?

If you're not counting third party figures, then yes, this is the best Skyfire. The best Jetfire is the G1 one and the best modern figure, including third party, is Fans Toys FT-10X Phoenix. That's what I think, anyway.
Edit: Crap, I just remembered the Masterpiece one. It was stupidly expensive (about £260), but I was able to pick up the KO for £71.33. I think the KO is better than the siege one as it is cool and cheaper, the official Masterpiece isn't as good as Siege, but FT-10X still wins overall. The paint on the X version of Phoenix is really good.
