generic and obvious reply - whenever someone mentions 3 man wave in an attempt to make yourself feel superior and modern.. However, if you watched all of the vid you would find he's extending the drill way past a crappy old 3 man weave. I agree that in isolation or without any context, the weave is somewhat dated and not a good way to spend your precious team training time, however it's not irrelevant provided a drill is given more, spice up and not done ad nauseam with the focus being only the weave itself (as it commonly was in the past - and where your generic criticism came from before someone told you this or you saw it in another video)..
I would also argue that learning to pass and cut towards the ball (be it behind or in front) is a modern skill for executing on-ball screens and hand-offs ... which as Mr Cutting edge basketball, you would of course be in total love with (and reliance of)... ..
Sorry for the long rant - but I've heard your comment so many times without any due consideration.. Inexperienced "you tube watching coaches" think it makes them sound informed, modern and separate from the older generation ... Well it doesn't if you can't back it up by blatantly ignoring the key fundamentals the drill focused on, and was practising in a competitive game-like context ... something you apparently want but can't see or understand when it's in front of your nose ... Still, all important games need a winning team and a loosing team - so that's good for me
