There's a lot more to graphics settings than just sliding EVERYTHING to 'low' or 'off'. The impact on your FPS varies hugely between different parameters. You can still have some stuff turned up which makes the game look a lot nicer while having almost no impact on FPS, while other things make a more significant difference to FPS while often not making the game look noticeably worse.
Depending on whether you have a high-end or low-end PC & GPU, I'd recommend starting with either everything maxed out or everything set to minimum, then change one variable at a time and observe the difference. Sometimes you need to make big changes to notice any difference, then you can scale the change back to make a compromise between FPS performance and visual quality.
Another important note : You need to TEST the setting as you make changes. It's no good just fiddling with the graphics options in the game menu with nothing to visually check the impact of the changes you're making. A useful method is to set up a Custom Game with minimum bots, and fiddle with the settings then look at the difference it makes before tweaking it to get it in the perfect spot. It's no good changing a load of settings all at once then going into a public Squad server and trying to see what difference ALL those changes make. In your own server you can make small changes and immediately see the results.
Also : Some maps have naturally higher or lower FPS, so you might find after adjusting your graphics options that it all runs perfectly on a naturally high-FPS map (eg Tunisia) but suddenly drops to unplayable FPS on a more graphically demanding map (eg Normandy Urban) - so check a variety of maps with your new settings.
Completely agree. Some of these things (like impact on FPS from different parameters) I tried to address in a few sentences in the video, though I guess it's impossible to explain exactly to what extent as to my own and others' experience, each one had different effects. It would have been hard to cover every possible option in much detail and keep the video sub-20 minutes so I opted to go down the "pretend you have a toaster trying to play Enlisted" route to help those, whilst assuming others would use trial and error and increase some settings if their machine can take it.

I'm kinda surprised people are needing to turn down the graphics settings on this game with the spec of gaming PCs currently. Enlisted runs beautifully on my PC which I built back in 2014, although max settings kill the FPS but not to the point of becoming unplayable. I guess I'm used to Arma 3 which runs badly on even very new PC specs (apparently).
btw - have you considered doing a series on each campaign progression ? There's quite a few tips & notes when you think about the kind of stuff new players may not realise. I was tempted to do guides on Normandy & Tunisia Allied campaigns, but most of my (very few) subscribers are mainly interested in Arma 3 vids. Also I don't really have the time to put into any editing so I just do a single take where I ramble on randomly lol.
@@MajorMcDonalds Oh, and btw - I actually did a vid on graphics settings for Enlisted literally a day before you did this video, hence my original comment. Problem was my video was messed up by the fact I was using a custom game to demonstrate the settings but the game ended before I finished explaining stuff. I didn't have time to do a 2nd take so I just left it and fully intend to do a better version when I have free time.

the graphics are 8bit dotted whereas before my graphics were high and they looked good and I upgraded to ultra I don't know why the graphics were dotted I restarted and it's still dotted how did this happen??? then I go down to the original graph, it's even more mottled ?? how do i fix it
To get rid of the settings, go back onto the graphics in-game panel and change the top preset to “high” or “ultra” or whatever you had it before, it should reset everything to its preset
my computer is just below the gpu requirements I has seen the game online and also played it on clound but i really want it to play on my pc

I believe you can, if you go to options - controls, where there are a number of sensitivity settings. I know you can on console/controller controls, but you can still on your PC/mouse settings in-game too
does this work on laptops i got one for 750 dollars it can run it on medium settings with lags occuring sometines
Yep it works for all platforms :) console may not see a few of these settings though

It is! You can cap the refresh rate in the settings which does the same job

I don't have 99% of these options in the graphics section on console. Actually I only have Gamma correction and safe area. I don't want to waste my time watching this video if it's not useful for me
I was told a number of these options were somewhere on console, though I cannot confirm myself. Not all of them, but most, supposedly. My apologies if most are not there!
