  • Setting the stage for the collective learning programs at the AUUUUDITORIUM of the Rockbund Art Museum, Ming Wong’s installation Scenography for a Shanghai Science Fiction Opera (2024) unveils an alternative speculative fiction that is retraceable in indigenous knowledge. In resonance with Wong's scenography, Project New Small Talk presents a series of lectures and workshops around early Chinese science fiction literature.
This lecture is an open discussion of early science fiction texts, covering "canons" from diverse cultures and "science fiction" elements in works not typically classified as such. Led by a contemporary Chinese science fiction writer, the audience will embark on adventurous journeys into the mental worlds of the following authors.
Lecturer: Tang Fei is a writer, critic, and member of Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America. She is the author of Odysscyber (2021), The Nameless Feast (2019), The Person Who Saw Cetus (2018). She has received recognition from the Shanghai Literature Award, Chinese Readers' Choice Awards (Gravity Awards), the Smokelong Quarterly Award, Favourite Speculative Fiction in Translation, among others.
    讲者:糖匪,作家,评论人,SFWA(美国科幻和奇幻作家协会)正式作家会员。
