uahu....sounds great..
so many thanks... grazie mille.
Dude you are a genius
much thanks. I'm happy you enjoy and can find usefull the informations into the video. P.S: The genial solutions are inspired by my father, I took mostly the "crazy" part of that geniality.
really #easy and #cheap solution to build up and grow mushrooms. Thanks #naturalmao
yes just it needs a plastic or blankets cover
I love you so much right now!
so much thanks. enjoy
bravo! grazie per l ottima idea...
grazie anche a te.
Nice build! So many possibilities! Green house, or use concrete canvas for a mini house!
Thanks a lot.
During summer time, or in worm climates, l suggest to cover it with big palm leaves.
Bravo! I got an completely same idea to build such geo dome from completely same materials !!!!
Great..good job
Thanks for sharing. 🙏

Wow! Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I especially like the part about the mushrooms. I knew they can digest plastics but I didn't know they could digest this kind (plus, I probably wouldn't have thought of using used pipe).
Is need that the mycelium adapt to the plastic source of food and secrete the appropriate enzymes..it take is time...I'm training some from a couple of years. Enjoy trying to do that
Thank you. I have been researching domes for use in Central America and your bamboo dome made with the plastic pipe connectors is a great idea. Poor people here build with what they can find and many things do not last because of weather, sun and destructive insects. I am working on solutions for this area and the problem has been price. Bamboo is here but we will need more to be grown for harvesting. I have decided to build mine and cover with aircrete. I might need to find other cheap ways to cover, but no others seem to work here or for long term use. They do try Maya ways of building for poor, but have lost the art of long term use. Again, best cheap idea for building for poor people!
Thank you to you for your words and actions...you are welcome to share the video to everybody you think can enjoy and use it..
long term natural ways are in most cases expensive and heavy for the structure...let's remember everithing is gonna change/transform.
I'm searching about mushrooms fabrics from wild mushrooms..

Very nice, may I ask the name of the music used?
Thanks, the group name is ATMA
THANK YOU FOR YOUR EXCELLENT PRESENTATION.
thanks to you for your lovely interaction
Very good idea. I am thinking about how much weight it can withstand
thank you very much. the weight that can be supported in general depends on the thickness of the tubes used as connectors. this model can easily support plastic sheeting as well as cotton and wool

Build from the top down! Easier! The structure is light enough for one person to assemble without going up a ladder!
the ladder is an usefull optional, as you say is not needed but can help, expecially if is windy
we tried and for us was easier to build from the bottom because the plastic joints low resistence
English Description
Bamboo Geodesic dome V2 self-construction and "Zero Waste project" by Fabio Mao Valletta
Geodesic dome V2 self-construction , diameter 4,4m, bamboo and polyethilene joints, Zero Waste project, clean up in nature and bioremediation of plastic by Pleurotus ostreatus mycelium. English Italian, and Spanish languages description.
I'm just sharing a way to realize it. Others tips are Welcome
materials used:
65 segments of bamboo
polietilene tubes
26 nuts and bolts
Let's start
select segments of intact and resistant bamboo, which do not have holes, fractures or are houses of insects
Cut bamboo segments, with an hacksaw, in two sizes (A-1.23m and B-1.09m), trying to keep the same diameter on the ends
cut off possible lateral growths on the bamboo
polyethylene pipes recycled by cleaning the nearby countryside sometimes used as an illegal landfill
mark the tubes at about 20-25 cm
cut the pipes with pruning shears or strong shears
prepare at least 70 sections of pipes
Check that the pipe sections are fitting on the bamboo segments according to the diameters of each piece
shape the polyethylene joints by heating them with a flame or heat gun, then tighten one end with a vice to be able to overlap them and fix with bolts
heat joints at one end,
heat near the tip and turning constantly
be careful not to burn the plastic (dioxin is toxic!)
compress in a vice fold on 16-18 degrees and hold in position for several seconds
joint compressed to one end
drill the flattened end
bevel the edges with a scissors or grinding wheel
3 dimensions and diameters of polyethylene joints
I like "Zero waste"

not dispersing plastic
some precautions for not dispersing plastic
some plastic powder
clean up the plastic produced
plastic residues products ready to be digested from the mythical mushroom pleurotus ostreatus
Put the plastic waste in a container with some kitchen vegetable residues like coffee, tea bags and oiled papers
I recommend keeping the container closed with mycelium and plastic residues near the sink
in order to add the coffee grounds until the container is completely full
Before to build the Geodesic prepares the components and do some checks
prepare 26 nuts and bolts
130 polyethylene joints ready
some more test
testing of polyethylene joints to form polygons 6 to 5 ways 10 to 4 ways and 10 to 6 ways
insert and force the joints on the bamboo segments
when necessary, warm up the joints or use some sticks to fix them at the best
check about dimensions of the 35 bamboo sticks A-1,30m
check igual dimensions of the 30 bamboo sticks B-1.20m previously marked
test of stability of the joints on bamboo
begin to assemble the structure
form a decahedron with long bamboo segments A
add segments forming triangles alternating the two dimensions of bamboo
complete the base and join the joints with the bolts
lift the triangles and continue joining segments
little by little… ..piece after piece .....
complete the first level
continue to the upper level
second level forming alternating hexagons and pentagons
finally close the structure with the last pentagon
tighten the bolts
mission complete
nice easy cheap simply of the best

poco a poco ... pieza tras pieza ...
Gracias y finalmente a relájarse

Descrizione in italiano
marcare i tubi a circa 20-25 cm
prepariamo 26 dadi e bulloni
130 giunti in polietilene pronti
qualche altro test
poco a poco …..pezzo dopo pezzo.....
completare il primo livello
continuare con il livello superiore
nel secondo livello formare esagoni e pentagoni alternati
stringere i bulloni
missione compiuta
bello, facile, economico, semplicemente del meglio.
Ringrazio e finalmente relax

most types of plastic will be partially degraded by soil-dwelling fungi, especially species in the genera Penicillium, Mucor, and Aspergillus. Turkey tail (Trametes versicolor) has been shown to degrade Nylon and Phanerochaete chrysosporium can digest bakelight (an early form of plastic made from phenol and formaldehyde)....the application of the digestive enzymes produced in the liquid medium of this and other fungi has been proposed as viable method for treating plastics
a study from 2012 found that the endophytic fungus Pestalotiopsis microspora was able to degrade a liquid form of polyester polyurethane even in the absence of air and without an additional carbon source
can you make domes from bamboo with 4" outer diameter and the minimum thickness is about 1/2" and the struts would turnout flat?
can you help me to understand better your question?
@@naturalmao9341 can you use thick bamboo strips instead?you split the 4" bamboo into a couple of pieces an use them as the struts. these bamboo sometimes exceed the height of 60ft. it is the only type that is available to us so i was wondering if i could use it instead. thank you for your reply
@@goldenlion7147 In my opinion if that is the only bamboo type aviable there, you should try.
@@goldenlion7147 if you try special, care needs about the joints and to not make holes to the cutted pieces, eventually because it will be more heavy, the plastic connectors needs to be hardones.
@@goldenlion7147 thanks to ask, I hope my nswer is usefull
Bamboo does not grow in the high desert climate where I live , could this work with lodge pole pine? Also it would be great to hear more about the bioremediation of plastic via mycology. My dad developed insitu ( on site , microbe and , hydrogen peroxide and microbes were injected into contaminated ground water) bioremediation of hydrocarbons in the 1980's this was sued at several superfund sites as well as fuel tank leaks into ground water in North America.
I'm looking at a dome to grow mycelium , so remediating soil at the same time , nice synergy.
thanks Erica. Bioremediation is always a great and necessary work, thanks to your dad too (would be lovely to know more about his work). about poles, you can adapt to the source material more aviable near you, pine's poles can work too, I suggest to treat them with fire or waxes...I believe that this kind of structures can be used perfectly to remediate soils, covering them from weather changes, rainfalls and boosting bacterias and mushrooms growing. I hope to be able to soon update some videos about mushrooms remediation and training to remediate plastics too.
hola ericka norris , do you have some documents about your father insitu studies? thanks for the nice sinergy
Hello! Is it possible to make a dome house with this technique, using bamboo?
yes just need to use the bàmboo with appropriate dimensions.. and choose a proper cover
It is really important you calculate the weight of the cover..
Bamboo is a strong building material, bigger dome》》bigger bamboo》》 STRONGER connectors☆☆☆

check the video in the minute 5:41
Really excited to try this out, very inspirational! What did you do with the coffee grounds/plastic dust?
Mycorestoration. it will become soil
I'm training oyster mushroom mycelium to eat plastic
Funciona?
Thanks for sharing. I encourage you to check out the videos of my geodesic dome design. Three years ago I created an all-ages dome design that is definitely cheap and can definitely be used by anyone. I'm going to be experimenting with aircrete too! Cheers.
