Tarikh is a daily program in which we present you with incidents and stories of noteworthy persons of Indian History in Hindi. In this edition of Tarikh Nikhil talks about Privy purses. Privy purses were fixed payments which were given to rulers of princely states in India. After Independence India's first Home Minister Vallabhbhai Patel did this work. In 1971 Prime Minister Indira Gandhi ended Privy purses. After it Pakistan's President zulfikar ali bhutto also took the same decision. But after the anger of nawabs he started a pension scheme for them.

The Economic Survey of 2017-18 showed that although poverty has declined in the country, the number of poor still remains very high. India wanted smooth and legal merger of all princely states so that later there won't be any international issue. or interference. For this reason Mt Battens cooperation was indispensable. The objective was achieved . Mergers was carried out smoothly. There was no rebellion by pro Brit supporters. After Mt Batten left Hyderabad was also merged. Kashmir became issue because of Nehru.
So far as Economic policy of India is concerned AINC(अखिल भारतीय राष्ट्रीय कांग्रेस) is unparalleled as compare as BJP (भारतीय जनता पार्टी, भारतीय जनसंघ के राजनैतिक उत्तराधिकारी) , but in other(foreign & defence policy) terms AINC is failure (Mrs Indira Gandhi followed Shastriji's policy as far as bifurcation of Pakistan is concerned, Emergency imposition in India etc)
