Yessss. This one had me at a loss. Still does. This is like all thier elements put together with a slap to the face thrown in. I love this. This instantly made it into my top 3 songs from them. The musical pauses are so good. I'm a sucker for that. My reaction was very close to yours.
I remember when Manifest came out and I thought that was the heaviest we'd ever see of Starset. I wish teenage me could see where the band would go just a few short years later
I think that both Starset and Dark Sarah go full into that cinematic metal sound with extremely different approaches, one on the electronic / industrial sound and the other one with their operatic/classical sound, even if Starset does have symphonic passages, they're really good at creating that awesome mysterious sci-fi vibe

I don't know if am too old of a fan or are most starset fans are yes men hyping anything the band does or there are too many new fans, do people really think this song and the last album are good enough to be associated with the same band that made the first two albums TRANSMISSIONS and VESSELS, I really love this band and I respect how they wanted to do something different with DIVISIONS, but why would they do something different again why risk changing your style three times? I understand this is only a single and isn't and indicator of the full album, but so far starset singles always give away the vibe of the whole album.
