I think I read somewhere that Woorim was almost eliminated on the first round.... Thank God they kept him! Forestella would not be Forestella without him. I cannot imagine anyone else but him.
The Forestella guys were really meant to be. They are basically 3 rejects + 1 who originally wanted to be a singer but faced opposition from his parents (Hyungho). Luckily Minkyu took WR under his wing and coached him. MK himself got told by vocal competition judges that his type of voice means he will never make it in the opera world. Doohoon was also almost eliminated from PS2 if I'm not mistaken.

BEST BASS!
It wasn't about comparing him to a soprano because one of the judges is actually an opera singer and a bass-baritone. The critique was that he was singing non classical songs using the only way he knew: how he was taught to sing and interpret opera. He was very clinical and did everything you'd expect of a classically-trained voice student: voice projection, pronunciation, volume control, conveying the lyrics. But I can't hear emotion in his voice. If I didn't watch the video I wouldn't be able to "feel" the song at all. Of course it's not helped by him being the least experienced and youngest contestant.
Fast forward to 2020 and he sang "Stars" from Les Mis. I actually had the video on in the background but was looking at something else. I could literally hear the anger emanating off him as if he was possessed by Javert himself. It made me quickly switch back to my browser and watch the video.

@@mxgirl918 well said. Are these kids still singing together as a group? Are they popular in Korea? I wish they stay together because they are better as group and their harmony is awesome. I wish they will expand their base to the USA, I will definitely be one of their avid fans. If they join AGT I’m pretty sure they will win without any doubt.
They just have to improve their English pronunciation although there are two of the groups whose English has improved. My husband likes them especially the bass❤️❤️❤️
@@Brow953 Yes, they've been together ever since PS ended. In fact they performed at the World Expo in Dubai recently. They are probably the best known crossover group in Korea in terms of public recognition right now.
The two whose English pronunciation isn't as good aren't classically trained but they have improved a lot since then.
@@mxgirl918 yes I noticed it lately, they really worked so hard. I wish them the best because they deserve it.
