Wow as a high schooler I thought NSU won for the crank. Now as a College Grad I’d say St.Aug got it. Their musicality and arrangements were through the roof !
I marched tuba at southern from 17-21 but I grew up watching these battles in high school which pushed me to be a better tuba player. Shoutout these sections who paved the way along with horsepower. 💪🏾
DTP are more self disciplined with their music. You can tell that they were prepared and actually took the time out to perform. All of their song's sounded great. Bodacious did good but by the sounds of some of their preparation's it's like they just threw something's together at the last minute. DTP got that battle.
I just love to hear those Sousaphones/Tubas, even though I played Clarinet, awesome my ex played the Tuba and I just love it, both these battles were awesome!!
Good job to both sections but I give it to DTP. Not by too much though. Bodacious just needs to work on tone and the solos were not good and sounded out of place. Bodacious did have more energy though so props for that, very high energy selections.
I wish I could have been there to see it live bit oustanding performance as usual Bodacious! I was also very impressed with Saint Aug, great overall contest.
I give this to St. Aug's DTP because Bodacious's solos were shaky at times! Also they were out of tune which sound flat so either they need to push in or blow warm air in their horns before they perform to prevent that!
I would give it to Bodacious for the extra round. DTP had an opportunity and their battle book was only two selections. I take nothing away from DTP though they were lit also.
