Michael Balfe, the composer of the Irish Opera The Bohemian Girl, passed away on 20th October 1870. On the 148th anniversary of his death, Irish singers Emer Barry and Lynn Hilary released a new version of one of his most famous songs 'Marble Halls'

Absolutely divine voices - I swear when Lynn looks directly into the camera, my breathing is affected - Celtic women are the most beautiful on Earth. God, thought I was past all that, will have to go and lie down now!

I was in love with Lynn 10 years ago... And I still am. She has the kind of serene beauty you could also see in Audrey Hepburn. It's not only beauty, it's also style. Her intelligent and sweet eyes, complete the picture. (and she has a voice, that's deserves to be well known all over the world, but than again...i like how she follows her heart and not her wallet)

Emer, your voice is so pure and perfect it could reduce grown men to tears - it did, not heard better. But Lynn's voice has subtle inflections that sound like she's blowing little kisses before each word - if that makes sense. Whatever, the overall effect is stunning and the camera loves you two! - wow.

Emer... this was my Dad's absolute-favorite song from my earliest memories of him until he passed 32 years ago, and he used to whistle or hum it constantly. I Never thought to ask him where he first heard it, or why this was his favorite. Listening to you and Lynn harmonize this beautiful song so perfectly had my heart in my throat, and I have already played it several times over this evening. Thank you sooo much for recording this.

Lynn has to be one of the best looking people in the world. Definitely an big time winner of the genetic lottery. Been taking my breath away for 20 years or so. I also notice she is learning a lot from her affiliation with Alex Sharpe. In this video she borrows a lot of Alex's wonderful expression. Nothing against Emer, who has one of the nicest voices ever to have been heard, but Lynn and Alex together just can't be beat. Unfair as that is.

I think so. Unfortunately, as new country became majority , the country became indistinguishable from pop. I just wanted a lady with a beautiful voice like Lynn to sing a straight country.

Yes... Lynn was an original member of that group.
Although l believe Lynn was one of the best vocalists ever to sing as Celtic Woman, she was not an original member. Chloe, Lisa, Meav and Orla were the original line-up. Lynn was asked to join a few years later.
