Amazing work it gives the model a sense of authenticity that you cannot get with the decals that come with the kit. I really love this way of detailing and how it all comes out
Greeting mate, that decaling/making application was perfection at its best, it was a brilliant job by a true master of the hobby, many thanks for sharing, best regards to you and your family from Australia.
*So much patience to deal with the masks but the result is so realistic, good job!*
Excellent job! The only insignia I have ever had the nerve to try were the Japanese roundel and the German cross. Doing the USA takes a great deal of skill and I just have never been able to work up enough confidence to try it. Again, what a great job.
Thank you very much! I did screw up one set of masks for the upper wing insignia so it takes some practice.
thats nice to avoid having white border over the decals after you place the maskings use first the base color for example green ,you can even do some preshading with that in order to shield the decal and not let the white be visible ,any color you want but white anyway around the edges...then you can use the white ,ideal will be to use as less as possible around the edges !
I was anxious just watching you paint those decals, never mind doing it myself! 🤦♂️ I'll stick with Cartograph or even the kit decals and keep my sanity intact! Brilliant job though, turned out great 👍
It takes some time to get the hang of it but it is so satisfying to remove those masks :)
Wow you are so good
I’m in the process of building an F 86 1/48 scale hope I can do somewhat similar to what you have done
These came out remarkable. What museum are you building this for? 😉
I noticed that Mr. Mark Setter left a stain at the top left-hand corner of your skeleton decal. I have been facing a similar problem. How do you get rid of it?
@@MMScaleModels Thank you so much for the tip! I really appreciate it!
Great job! I'd like to ask what kind of transparent foil you used for placing the masks? (the chequered one at 0:42)
Really nice, ICM decals are very thin and fold too easily. Painting the marking took away some of that risk and looks perfect
You are constantly using "anyhow" which is incorrect. Please use "anyway" instead.
anyhow is synonymous to:
anyway
in any case
in any event
at any rate
at all events
no matter what
regardless
however
be that as it may
still and all
anyways
If you mean that I repeat myself too much then i can agree :)
what pressure for airbrush do you use? thanks, dickt
0.8 bar with the 0.2 airbrush for the fine stuff. 1 bar with the 0.3 for coverage.
A good trick with mask painting is to always apply first another layer of the base color covered by the mask.
If there will be any small leak, that will be at the first spray. A leak of the same color will not be noticable.
Great point 👍
