So interesting to hear you talk about getting weird vibes for buying the love bracelet for yourself. I can't pinpoint any specific time I heard it, but for some reason growing up I had this idea that you're never supposed to buy jewelry for yourself and lived by that rule and wouldn't buy myself things I loved. I remember the day I walked into pandora when I was in college and bought myself a ring because I finally realized the actual load of crap that I had let people talk me into lol. Treating yourself is so important. you are so worth it. no one can tell you how to live your life. so glad that you do that and share that with your audience! I wish 15 year old me had gretchen in her life!

I went into the store two years ago to try a ring on and the woman working there.. told me someone is supposed to buy you that....I was like I'm sorry what? Fast forward to last year when my dad found out he was dying of cancer, he surprised me with one that said I love you inside. One day I am buying MYSELF the bracelet !!! xoxo

OMG, I had to pause the video to say, it's absolutely OK to buy yourself whatever you want with the money that you have worked hard for!!! Also, as a women, we should "LOVE" ourselves and treat ourselves to what we deserve, whether that being a gift of an item, or a gift us respect and love, because we deserve it. I listened to your podcast of comparing ourselves to a former version of ourselves, and cried/nodded my head through most of it. I workout a couple of times at home, because I'm quarantined by myself, but it's not the same as my active lifestyle and commuting three hours a day to SF for my job. Everything is home, and my body doesn't look/feel the way it did or even four years ago when I was too small for my body type and it's just unrealistic what I need to do to weigh a 106. It's very hard to break the happy of comparing yourself to a former version or to other women, but I'm happy that you are where you want to be. I hope I can be happier in my own skin one day. Thank you for being you!!! :-)

Hey Gretchen, just wanted to say I love your videos and you of course! When you were talking about you not knowing which pearls were your nice ones or cheap ones here is a little hack. If you grab the pearl and scratch it up against your teeth if it feels chalky then that means it’s real but if it glides and it’s slippery it means the pearl is fake! Just a little note to always remember! Also, i have the same David Yurman ring and it always gets super dirty so if you get Dawn dish soap and a toothbrush and just clean it gently it will look brand new. It saves so much time getting it professionally cleaned, trust me LOL.☺️ hope this helped!

For the Tiffany necklace that your parents got you for Christmas, you can buy a polishing cloth off of Amazon for like $5 that works wonders! Or you can take it to your nearest Tiffany store and they can clean it. It’s definitely not ruined that’s just what happens when their silver jewelry isn’t worn for awhile. Also you can store it in the bag and have the pendent one slot of the bag and then the chain on the other which will help decrease tarnishing!
Its crazy how I remember every one of these pieces and they take me back to a younger you!!

Great collection! About your Tif necklace - you know that you just clean your silver jewerly and it is normal. It just oxydizes if as time goes by and you clean it.
You can use silver cleaner on the Tiffany necklace to make it look new again!! That’s what I do with mine :)

I begged my mom for that Tiffany’s necklace after seeing you get it for Christmas 😂 I was a senior in high school in 2014, as well, and I begged for it for either graduation or my birthday and it did not happen lol. I can’t believe you still have it!

There are special cloths that you can clean the Tiffany necklace with I believe they are just called a polishing cloth they have them lots of places😊
You could take any Tiffany jewelry piece to a Tiffany store and they will totally clean it for you for just a small charge. You could also buy one of their polishing cloths (They are 15$ each, I believe) and clean the necklace by yourself. I have the exact same Tiffany necklace and I do so every now and then. BTW, if you store them individually in a jewelry plastic bag that you could buy off of Amazon (they basically look like very tiny Ziplocs), you can prevent them from tarnishing for such a long time.
Tarnished silver can be easily polished and brought back to it’s original luster. Just google it and get some silver cleaner and a polishing cloth. Super easy.
You can clean silver with any white tooth paste and a used toothbrush it really works! I'll suggest try it on your necklace but be gentle with the toothbrush so you don't scratch it.
my tiffany got a little tarnished, warm water and fairy liquid pop it into soak, also toothpaste and a scrub, hopefully it wont scratch but it helped me x

I was just wondering do you by the 14 karat gold or the gold Vermeil? I don’t wanna spend the big price tag of 14 karat gold but I am unsure if gold vermeil is good quality
Gold vermeil will last for a while but not as long as real 14k gold! With wear the gold vermeil may wear out or chip so if you don’t think it’s a piece you want forever than just go with vermeil. If it’s a timeless piece that you know you’ll have forever go with 14/18k! I usually get the 14/18k gold because you can shower with it and it’s stays in great condition lol

you have to get the Tiffany & Co. silver cleaner at the store. I got it and cleaned my Tiffany necklace because I have that same necklace it made it brand new again. Silver jewelry tarnishes over anything
