8:06 it's better described in the book. Edward didn't shove her. In the books it describes how strong vampires are that a tap looks like a shove. He simply wanted to move her back. This is why he is constantly cautious and beating himself up because he wants to protect her, but if he can't control his strength, one careless move could kill her.
Things like that are better expressed with the wolves.

The only thing they did right in this movie was the depiction of depression after someone leaves for good. It breaks my heart everytime.
Even in the novel, i cried while turning each page. After he lett, there were 4 blanks pages with just the months written on them. It was too heavy for my 16 yo self lol
They did plenty well, you just can’t see it because you’re a muppet who can’t think for yourself.
That's not how depression looks for everyone 😂. Bella was doing the most.

Watching jaby all giddy and smiley in Edward's scenes is so funny and cute 😭
Jacob knew the old stories about the cold ones but didn't believe they were actually true until he became a wolf. That's why he confronted Bella about lying. Also, his rapid mood swings and fever after the movie were basically his wolf puberty. He was about to change into a shape shifting wolf because of vampire exposure. Bella had nothing to do with it.

Jacob initially never believed in the stories...He just considered them as folktales. But New moon is where he actually transforms into a wolf and realizes its all true. He is a young wolf and it takes time to control the transformation. Especially cuz the physical changes they go through makes them always running o high temperature and anger management issues. Anger triggers their wolf transformation and young wolves are overly aggressive.
The books are a billion times better than the movies, for sure. I mean, it's still Twilight and you are still thinking "wtf is this teenager doing with this grandpa" type of thing, but it explains things way better, you actually get to understand all the sides. There's also so much in between the lines in the books, that you can read into, and understand more of a deeper meaning for things. For example, Bella's depression can be understood as a drug withdraw. Edward says that everythign about him is made to pull humans in, and make humans want them, so you could understand their venon as being a drug, which Bella would be addicted to for being close to him and kissing him, and now she's going through withdraw. There's a lot more, but that's just one example. Recommend the books.

So, as a person who read these novels back in 2010, here are some answers:
1. Jacob was pissed at MAX (the white guy's name that Jaby forgot. BTW he was my crush in the movie. Lol) at the movies because he was nearing his transformation, getting his wolf so they are always agitated, feel very hot, sweaty coz his body is changing.
2. Jacob was shirtless because his body is running down with fever due to this transformation. He was still in training to control this transformation which is why Bill and others kept Bella away from him and didn't want her to see him. Coz he is still young wolf and doesn't have control and might hurt a human, coz that's not what he is prepared for r.n. The fever and feeling hot was another reason why he cut his hair.
3. BTW Jacob was 16!
4. The thing for Marriage was important because they are still young... So you know what would happen: Parents are going to go crazy.
5. BOOKS are BETTER. That was amazing, and you get attached to each characters and know a lot of back story. But movie did a good job of portraying.
6. The beef between Sam and Jacob was also an important factor, you can see later in the other part.
7. The hotness and muscles of Jacob portrays how guys grow handsome after they hit puberty; the same way even though he is young, he hit puberty of a Wolf.

I dont know if you know already but the Wolfs in this movies are not Werwolfs they are shapeshifters they turn not because of the moon as you can see in this movie and will explain more in the next movie
They never mention it in the movies, but even in the books, that’s not something you find out until the end.
That is a "type" of werewolf. There is a great fantasy series's called "The Dresden Files" that handles a wide range of creature lore. Multiple types of vampires and werewolves are explored in a really cool way.

I've noticed this is an issue for people in most reactions to the twilight series.
If this was reality, I'd say yeah, age is definitely problematic, but it's a fantasy world.

They don't say it in the movies, but the main Volturi guys (Caius, Marcus and Aro) were born around 1300 B.C., in Greece. They were a thousand years old when JESUS walked the Earth. That's how ancient they are.
Jacob is actually playing the long game. If you guys were feeling squeamish about Edward being a century old vampire dating a teenager, then you'll definitely get a lot more uneasy after seeing the person, on whom Jacob will actually imprint 😂😂
OMG JABY THANK YOU THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BEING SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS. I need to contain my excitement haha but you really got the whole Edward hype part. These movies continue to be comfort films even today. It does such a good job of making you forget about the real world for a bit, maybe even a simpler time and I’m enjoying watching these with you guys. Also I love how Kristen became team Edward! ♥️😂

And tbh it makes sense that Edward is smooth with his flirting while jacob is flirting like a 16yo, because he is 16.

I remember reading the books and them being so funny. I do like that few changes were made in the movie here and there to fit it all in the runtime. Cullen family is barely shown here, whereas in the books each Cullen character is a different type of fun!

I think edward was supposed to look emaciated and pasty because he'd been starving himself ever since he left Bella. If I remember correctly.
It’s funny that I see a lot of the reactors saying they liked the 1st movies style more. When it came out, I remember everyone hating it. I THINK it was because fans that were watching it then were fans of the book and we wanted it to feel like the book. We were so invested in it that we felt the movie was taken too lightly and cringey. It obviously is lol but at the time we couldn’t see that 🤷🏻♀️ that’s probably why they switched directors. Also, I have to say, I wasn’t too big of a fan of Catherine Hardwicke’s style because it’s so similar across her movies. Just look at Red Riding Hood after she did this one.

People need to remember twilight started as a small indie movie made with limited budget before it turned into big studio franchise. Also, kristen was a whole indie princess and actually called the shots for both edward and jacab castings.
I think the books are better but Bella as a character stays blant and frustrating😂

i am an actual nerd, i can recite Shakespeare just like that too but i have dyslexia and can't spell we all have are strengths and weaknesses. I now having watched this with many different couples, from all walks of life from a sociology stand point it is so interesting, i see why universities had classes on these movies.
@CineDesi I just want you guys or the Reel Rejects to find out that book Jacob is a lot more likable in the first 2-3 books. He becomes more like book Jacob later in the movies. But in the books his and Bella’s connection romantically and friendship wise is a lot more important and impactful. And the whole love triangle thing makes a lot more sense.
Partly of why it makes more sense is that A.) Jacob is not nearly as annoying, pushy, and whiny in the books (like he is in these early movies). He actually is a lot more likable than Edward to a lot of people though Edward is mysterious and old fashion.
B.) Bella contemplates how she’s in danger with the Vampires and has gotten hurt but with Jacob she feels safe and his arms feel like home to her.
C.) Edward was really a lot more harsh towards Bella in the books than he is in this movie when he pushes her away and leaves.
JUST HAD TO SHARE THIS BECAUSE I FEEL LIKE PEOPLE WHO GO INTO THESE BLIND ARE 100% TEAM EDWARD and don’t really get why Bella is so conflicted. Which is like the entire point of this series at least the first 3-4 movies. And the movies barely even try to make it seem like Bella is into Jacob at all.
After look the reaction from Reel Rejects I'm so glad Jaby and Kristen also watch this throwback Twilight, love the reaction 🤩

The first movie's tone was very cool to represent the vampires. The second one is very warm to represent the wolves. The next one is more balanced and you'll see why.
Hi, I want to suggest a new movie to watch - Maharaj (2024). It's very unique. They released the trailer after the movie came out because if it had been released earlier, it would have caused widespread controversy in India and might not have been released at all. Also it is Amir Khan's son's(Junaid khan) debut movie.

I was always Team Jacob. My reasoning is wolves were my 1st favorite animals, to the point where I carried around a book about wolves everywhere I went when I was younger. I could tell you everything about them, from their Latin name, to how they ate, where they migrated to and from, etc. And I would literally research how to become one XD
On top of my liking wolves over vampires from a monster preference standpoint. I had a crush on Taylor Lautner and a personal vendetta against Robert Pattinson because he looked like an a-hole I personally knew who sent me to the hospital. So my choice was extremely clear which team I was on lol
Sidenote: People love jumping down Jacob's throat starting with this film completely forgetting that wolves/werewolves/shapeshifters are aggressive during certain moon phases, and it was his 1st time shifting so he didn't know it would happen. And no I'm not condoning everything he does but also Bella keeps leading him the frig on throughout the entire film. So forgive him for all the mixed dang signals.
We as the audience know Bella misses Edward but every time Jacob is with her she's doing things like calling him beautiful, hanging out with him for hours on end, leaning in to kiss him like in the kitchen, etc. If I was him, I would think she liked me romantically too. And again, I'm talking from the perspective and context of what the film has provided for us, and not from the book's perspective.
Bella was always honest though. She says it, by her lines, you comprehend that.
But whatever. Also Jacob said age is just a number lol. Not concerning at all
