Really good reason for that! Ancient egyptians actually only had the letter u in our modern equivalent. The letter for u was transported to multiple other surrounding countries, where it got closer to the U shape, until arriving in germany where they used the V shape as a capital U. That's also why W is named double-U but written like two V's: they were originally the same letter! It's also why German still have the V and W sound switched.

41:42 It's not a comb sadly. It's the Feather of Truth. That's a statue of Anubis, he weighs people's hearts against the feather of truth when they die. If their heart is lighter than the feather, they get to pass onto the afterlife, if their heart is heavier, it gets fed to a hippo like creature and they do not get to go to the afterlife and are basically punished.

I'm also always impressed at how well you both handle frustrations and how much of a team you still are even though at time you get a little stressed by the other x) I hope you play more of these they're such fun to watch

One of my favorite community rooms for two people is the Harry Potter classroom. It is really well done. One time I was watching a streamer and a newbie popped up, first time in chat and it was just a paragraph of text explaining all of the puzzles in the room; even though they had been saying "no I don't want any clues", that got them an instant ban. You can have up to 4 people in a room. It does get a bit crowded and lack of communication can make things frustrating.

I missed the stream yesterday, and I love this game! I've only played a few levels, but it's super good. I can't wait to see you guys play it! I also recommend Escape Academy if y'all enjoy escape room games. It has a bit of a story, great character art, and super fun (but challenging) levels.

So glad you guys got to play this. My wife and I love RL escape rooms and have done a TON and now we've started doing the escape room card/board games (EXIT is the most prolific and they're pretty good). If you've never tried those, they're a great way to get the experience in your home and on your terms, not to mention a little cheaper (though a little less immersive and exciting as a result)

Have you guys heard of Escape Academy? it's another escape room game & from what I've seen it looks fun
Editing to also mention the We Were Here games- the first couple should be doable in their own streams, but the newest (We Were Here Forever) is really long in comparison. They have escape room vibes for sure, and also definitely some creepy vibes. The unique thing about them is they're for 2 players who are split up most of the time so in order to solve the puzzles, you really have to communicate (the idea being you don't see each other's screens) because one player won't ever have all the information needed to solve a puzzle. Not sure how you'd do it with your setup as you're right beside each other but maybe something to play in an offline stream

In the Anubis part. In old Egyptian mythology for a person to be dimmed the upper realm, in the spiritual plain, their heart should be lighter than a feather.
Also, Evan is the perfect ADHD example. Of paying no attention to anything, but also paying attention to everything.
Omg the „never eat shredded wheat“ 😅 I’m not a nativ English speaker so I was not familiar with
the equivalent to our little saying to remember where north east south west lies.
In Germany it’s translated to „never wash without soap“ 😂 (at least that’s the one I know)

This issue with time is that they spend their time looking at what the other person is doing instead of solving a separate puzzle. Not only does it defeat the purpose of having multiple players, but they actually waste more time trying to convince the other person they are right. It's fine to play cooperatively, but if you are going to shoot for the timed win you need to be efficient with your time.

I over complicated so much with this game, that I never did it on time and I had to ask for help, I was looking for really difficult answers and It was easier than I thought, but it is a really fun game, I loved it, and I'm sure it is much more fun playing it with someone else, I enjoyed watching you playing 😊
On a show about kind of like the journey of the Egyptians to the afterlife it talked about your heart needing to be as light as a feather in order to enter like the afterlife so maybe that's what second room was themed after. Just a thought

I'm currently watching you guys try to figure out the pyramid puzzle (about 1 hour and 5 minutes in) and cracking up because it seems so obvious to me that the pictures above are asking you to fill in the blank using the spinning pyramids below in the spots the lines indicate. I wonder how long it will take you two to figure it out. 😇

I love this game! My hubby and I have played through all of the main levels. Some of the fan made levels are pretty good, but some are difficult to figure out though.

the comb is a feather and the jackal headed god your trying to give it to is Anubis he weighs peoples hearts against the feather if its lighter then the feather then you go to the field of reeds if its heavier then the feather your soul is destroyed in eternal darkness.
Specifically, the feather represents the concept of “Ma'at,” a kind of guideline or ideal of how to lead a virtuous life. When a Kemetic follower dies, their heart is weighed against the “Feather of Ma'at” by Anubis. If their life is deemed to be virtuous, they move onto the vast realm of the dead, Duat - if not, their heart (and, by extension, their eternal soul) is consumed by the demon/goddess Ammit, which commits their soul to an infinite darkness/non-existence.

I was looking at an escape room place near here and from the pictures it looked awful. Just like a plain room in an office building with a few puzzles scattered around. I don't think there was even a theme.

I tried an escape room once. We were supposed to find a code for a lock. I kept telling my group to look for the name of a tribe, thinking the name would be the answer. We spent 10 mins looking for the answer and never found it. Once we were done, we asked what the word was and it was tribe 😭
