    Hi Leigh, just yo say I found this video very useful my daughters 3 in July, I'm in Scotland and I had so many questions in my head about how do I get the free hours when she turns 3. I pay £573 for 2 days a week at moment ad nursery said if I want an extra day when she turns 3 it'll cost me £280 a month because I need all year not just term time. Or if I keep 2 days it'll be free. Or tern time but I have nobody to watch her when I work. Anyway I didn't know about the jan to Mar. April to August, Sept to Dec, thsnk you got explaining thst, it helps. I do do the government 25% top up I'm childcare a count, you explain it very well thst it's not "free" childcare. I've subscribed to help you get you towards your goal for monetisation on YT. I'm opposite, I have the subscribers nit quite the watched hours yet. 😂🤘👍

      Ahhhh that’s so lovely thank you for following ❤ I will check out some of your videos! The watch hours are HARD - So the 30 hours system changes here sadly mostly apply to England but I will check out the Scottish system and get some info out on it on my IG soon ❤

    Hi - what happens if my return to work date is at the beginning of a new term? For example - if I return to work mid october, my funding starts from 1 January. That results in 2.5 months of no help in funding - can I make a case manually or ask for it to be backdated? Thanks
    A

      Your funding start date relates to the age of your child not your return to work date so in theory if your child qualified for the hours at the start of the September term you could apply but I know our nursery wants the info before the term starts to apply for the funding from the council so id probably ask the nursery and ring the childcare helpline on this one x

    😊planning to have a baby for 2025. Myself and my partner work full time 37.5 hours a week each would we still be entitled to it/ would there be spaces?

      Ok so you should entitled providing neither of you is individually earning over £100k (not together, separately) - I’d make some nursery enquiries whilst pregnant to be honest and get on the waiting list for your first choice (I signed up whilst pregnant second time) you can check eligibility on the funding choices or government website (assuming you’re in England)

    For tax free childcare, do i withdraw the money from the childcare account and transfer to the child provider’s bank account?

    • @MortgageFreeLeigh
      @MortgageFreeLeigh  Před 4 měsíci

      No you put money into your TFC and then the government tops it up - you set up a payment directly from TFC to the childcare provider. If you withdraw money you lose the gov top up x

    Is this aplicable for skilled worker and spouse visa holder or it is only for ILR/british passport holder?

      workingfamilies.org.uk/articles/tax-free-childcare/ check out this page it seems that the key might be whether you have recourse to public funds, there is a helpline you can ring to ask if unsure x
