    If you want to buy a high performance Shelby, you have two modern choices, the GT350 or the new GT500. Both of these Ford Performance developed Mustangs are amazing machines, but after spending some with each of them, I have learned how different they are! The GT350R brings a naturally aspirated flat plane crank V8 that revs to 8250rpm making 526 horsepower, while the supercharged cross plane crank GT500 pushes out an immense 760 horsepower. The GT350 is 6 speed manual transmission only, while the GT500 can only be had with a new 7 speed Dual Clutch Transmission. In this video we talk about the similarities and differences between the two Shelby's, exterior and interior, exhaust rev comparison, price comparison and the driving experience. Which one would you want in your garage?

    No comparison should be made. One is naturally aspirated and the other is boosted. They are the best in their class, respectively.

      Why do people prefer the manual over the 10 speed??

    • @dankmemer2774
      @dankmemer2774 Před 3 lety +3

      @@rauljrlara9994 generally speaking, enthusiasts of automobiles prefer to be able to shift their own gear in the name of driver involvement even at the expense of speed. The 10 speed will nail shifts every time even under rough driving because that is what it was made to do. It is more rewarding when drivers are able to nail shifts entirely on their own in rough driving because it is something that takes a lot of practice and failures. Also because there aren’t very many cars that offer manual transmissions like before, and even cars that traditionally offer manual transmissions are slowly taking the manuals away in newer releases. I feel like when people are denied something, or told they cannot have some things, it triggers their feeling of wanting to more openly and actively obtain said things.

      @CaptainAlex69 Před 18 dny

      @@rauljrlara9994 the GT500 doesn't come with a 10 speed. it's a 7 speed dual clutch automatic transmission. but, you need to learn to drive manual and experience it to truly see why it's better.

    Great review of these two cars. I own a 2019 Bullitt. (I loved the retro styling and overall power and driving feel plus the price was much better for me.). I often think about trading but I’m not a track or drag racing type. For just fun cruising around town and general comfort, I think the GT500 (base version) makes more sense. However, I’ve never driven the GT500 or Gt350R. I have driven the Base GT350. My biggest issue is the money factor. With the current supply issues, pricing has gone through the roof. Who knows what the future holds. Right now I’m thinking about trading to a new M2 especially that new hot hatch model! I’m also looking at the new Nissan Z? If you didn’t own the R now what would you buy? Probably bad time to buy anything; but trading a mint used Bullitt for some thing new might be ok? Porsche Cayman or New M2?

The GT350 has a manual, is lighter, sounds better, has better throttle response, is more reliable and still has more horsepower than any modern tire can handle.

    What about comparing the GT500 to a GT-R? Can only buy one, Eddie which would you choose and why?

    • @EddieX
      @EddieX  Před rokem

      hmmmmm. that's a challenging one. The GTR is an older platform but also iconic, and more "exotic". The GT500 is much newer, better transmission, nicer tech/interior but also RWD only. Personally I think I would end up going for the GT500 if I was keeping it stock, especially as I am a Mustang guy. GTR if I was looking for modifications, bolt on and up. That being said...the GT500 would be a beast with some mods too haha.

    The same complaint that people had with BMWs v10 M5., we see made here about the 350’s engine...you need to stay way up in the revs all the time

    • @michaelbonade4667
      @michaelbonade4667 Před 3 dny

      The power peak is way up in the rev range…meaning the engine needs to be above 4000 rpm to get the best from it…much like the BMW v10…and the inline 4 from the Honda S2000….its not a Fault….its just a particular type of vehicle….gt500 has more low end torque probably from below 1500 rpm

      @@EddieX yes I have,I like the 500 but I love my manual better especially with the extra power I have now. It would be awesome to have both but if I had to choose one personally I choose the more power of the GT350R.
