Just picked one up. Excellent video. Helped me a lot marking my decision on what truck to get. This truck is the best bang for the buck from the gmc line. But you have to get the premium trim package.

Thank you for saying it’s too expensive. Idk how many reviewers I watch saying “affordable” or “deal” or something like that. Buying a new truck is like selling a kidney. I’m keeping my 13 ram until it’s no longer fixable.
I am picking up a 2024 truck exactly like this one, $12k off MSRP. I think 66k MSRP is too much, so pleased with the very recent discounts. But let's be honest now: New trucks are basically the clones of their counterpart SUVs, which are about 10k MORE than the truck variant. Compare F150s to Expeditions, Tundra's and Sequoias, Silverado to Tahoe. I would argue unless a family NEEDS a 3rd row, the truck is a much better deal with more versatility. For less money. Basic trucks with no bells and whistles have almost been completely replace by the upgraded interiors and extra features of their SUVs. This makes me feel better about my purchase.
@@chrisjohnson1312 that’s a good deal. I have heard recently that trucks have been going down. Especially Ram trucks because they’re not selling as much and dealers are getting too much inventory. $54k for a $66k truck is a decent price I think. I mean you do get a lot for the money. I won’t deny that. Standard equipment is quite a big list these days

I bought a 2022 F150 Lariat Powerboost Crew Cab 4x4 with 360 assist and 7.2kw inverter in bed. It was the base trim and with X Plan pricing was $58K. Since they don’t even have a base Lariat trim anymore, $58K would barely get you an XLT with those options. A Lariat with those features is a $70k+ truck now. Basically, yes trucks are waaaaaaaay too expensive these days. Guess what? People keep buying them anyway, so the manufacturers don’t care!

Very good review! I have a 2024, 1500 elevation with the premium package. Mine has the X31 suspension. I think that’s where I got the two speed transfer case, because I have 4WD Low. I 100% agree with you on the auto dem rear view mirror! I didn’t realize how much I appreciated that feature until I noticed this one didn’t have it. I also think cooled seats and auto up windows should be included for the price. All in all, it’s a nice truck.
The first thing I did was remove the oversized “Elevation” badges. I think they take away from the look of the truck. I also did a muffler delete, I left the flapper in place. Now it sounds great! It’s a little louder than I expected at cold start but then it tones down a bit and sounds great and I have zero droning sound. I will get a Range Technology DFM disabler as soon as it is available.
GM has to do GM. How can brake light not be LED on such an expensive vehicle in this day and age? 🤷♂️
And y’all Americans have to be the Americans you are. Y’all complained about the interiors first, *gm* has since completely overhauled them both and now they’re amongst the best, if not the absolute best luxury interiors in the segment. So now y’all _look_ for things to complain about like the bulb type of the taillight. I’m sure enough will hop on the bandwagon and make incandescent lights a problem for all and they’ll end up addressing that as well.
It’s hilarious how y’all say “A REAL TRUCK doesn’t need [insert every premium feature on the Sierra] yet y’all will nitpick and cry over a LED lightbulb. *gm* I blame you for being so darn soft! BMW and Mercedes have been using inc incandescent bulbs for lighting forever and just recently stopped, yet Americans buy them without ANY lip about it.

The benefit of not having factory LEDs is you can swap them out to led and swap out the bulbs when they go bad relatively inexpensively. When the factory LEDs go bad you have to replace the whole taillight or headlight. Let's hope it's still under warranty cause that is expensive.

Just bought mine today 2024 I have no credit score so I did drop a heavy bag $ on it 20k$ cash down payment Ik it’s a lot sadly my % was at 10% and car should come out to be 76k overall, im 22 so I’m definitely gonna have a blast with this truck 🙏🏽

I agree. I like the elevation package. Because it's all blacked out. But at that price range, you should get front cooled seats and rear heated a passenger power seat and automatic Power folding mirror should come standard! For that kind of money.
I agree it's unacceptable it doesn't come standard with the auto dim rear view mirror. Definitely not a 66k truck.

The Elevation is on par with Ford's Lariat & Ram's Laramie not the XLT. I almost bought the '23 of this as a Black pig but GMs configuration is a funny one. I couldn't get exacor almost what I wanted, even with me compromising the engine size, my option came up to 84KCAD, I had to settle for Ford's Lariat factory-built, Full hybrid (7.2kwh), 3.5V6 & BLK appearance package for the same price after some discount. IMHO, a better buy for what I wanted. On the whole, you can't go wrong with this GMC.
F150's are great too!
SLT in GMC is ford lariat and Ram laramie.....standard leather and power front and vented seats, and all can be built close to top trims....elevation cannot be built to those specs, no pass power seat either

I own a 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Elevation, and your video taught me something new-I discovered that my truck has a sports mode. However, the one thing I'm not fond of is the precision shifter; it feels counterintuitive to push forward for reverse and pull back for forward. Nonetheless, I appreciate your thoroughness in the video!
For the premium package some of y’all demand too much. It’s an Elevation not a Denali. You wanted all those extra features get a SLT or higher. Btw if the truck is unlocked and you double tap remote start the truck will auto lock then start. Dont gotta hit lock then start

I bought the Sierra 1500 Elevation with premium package with a few differences being an included sunroof and a standard tailgate. I've had it for two days and purchased it from that exact location. I think you were spot on with majority of your opinions, especially the "mean" cold start and smooth silent ride on the hwy. The truck market is pretty insane, but were seeing the prices coming down and I was able to purchase this well under MSRP. Thankfully, Koons Tysons dealership (David O. - Sales) made it easy to leave with a beautiful and well equipped truck. If you're in that area, I would absolutely recommend checking them out - we're glad we took the 45 minute drive to see what they had.
Only minor complaints would be the lack of cooled seats and the interior cabin lights are pretty dim.

That should be the Denali Ultimate price point. But on an Elevation???? I got my 19 Sierra Denali Ultimate (loaded) for 50k just a few short years ago. Trucks are getting waaaaay overpriced, and it's going to get much worse for 24.
They are already having a hard time selling these trucks at current intrest rates. Prices gonna have to come down. My local dealers have had the same trucks on the lot for 6 plus months unsold

I recently ordered the Blacked out Elevation with the Premium and X-31 off road package. The price of vehicles like everything is out of control. It's hard to comprehend that with a sticker price of 80.000 it is not available with a power adjustable front passenger seat. that means the seat has no height adjustment for passenger comfort. I thought it was all about comfort. What a rip off. To get a blacked out truck with a power front passenger seat I would have to get the blacked out AT4 . That truck was my first choice but would set me back probably 100.000. Again what a rip off. I currently own a 2017 All Terrain X. It has the same trim level as the SLT. and has power front seats. Looking forward to getting the truck in the next 3 or 4 months but that seat issue is going to be a black mark on it.
Get a Dodge Ram Night Edition - Heated and cooled seats, full screen moosunroof, power everything LOL :)

@@randallsavage8743. I guess one could call it a rip off but I live in Canada and because of that I will pay $15,000 more than you will pay for the same truck. Still waiting for the truck. It's been in transit from where it was built for 2 months now, somewhere in the US. It has been in Quebec for 3 weeks now waiting for a train ride to Labrador City. Then they need 8 or 9 vehicles to fill a car hauler before it will make the 6 hr. trip to the GM dealer in Goose Bay Labrador where I will pick it up. That is just an 800 km drive, round trip to pick it up. Hopefully just one more month waiting. That will be 8 months from the day I ordered it.
I bought my 2024 Elevation on March 16th. Didn't get the premium and I only bought a new truck because my 2012 Ram needed more $ in repairs than I wanted to spend. I think mine was overpriced, BUT was the most loaded for the money.

Gmc pickup is the bare minimum, your right it should come with auto dimming mirrors.Styling is bare minimum everything is square looking. I haven't even seen at least the cigarette charger anywhere in the front for accessories. Get more more bang for your money with Dodge pickups in my opinion.
I have a 22 ram larime love the tailgate but ram is quieter and a better interior but this has good equipment good tech
P.S. got it NEW with only 18 miles on it at that time right now I truck has 3077 miles

Way too expensive, some of these trucks in high trims are now over $100,000 which is robbery and out of reach for lots of people.
My opinion is to choose the 2.7 with cloth seats. GM has a ton of cash on the hood right know.

did you try flipping the digital rearview mirror switch ? most elevations that i worked on at the dealership had both the regular rearview mirror and the digital rearview mirror because of the switch underneath the mirror
