I believe thrift stores are becoming expensive for the same reason that used cars became incredibly expensive: which is the fact that inflation, labor, and broken supply chains have caused the production of new materials and products to be much more expensive than usual, causing used items to increase in sheer price. but yes, maybe popularity of thrifting too :D @@sanboo5228

I’m from SF (shoutout to the person that mentioned the Haight!) so I’ve been to LA dozens of times and NY only once… Don’t get me wrong there are some VERY fashionable and creative people in LA, but if we’re talking per capita I’d also have to go with NY. LA has summer weather practically all year long so outfits barely have any material to work with, and often times you’ll find people wearing bikini-cover type clothing. Layering is just now starting to make its wave though, which is great. And there is a decent amount of vintage love, too. But even as a California native, I have no problem naming NY as our fashion capital!
Can you do Upper East Side of NYC or the posh parts of Wall Streets as well, cause I'm from Asia and it's good to take fashion vinspiration from different parts of the world. ❤🐣✨

As far as L.A. and NYC styles, in general, styles usually reflect both the climate and lifestyle of a place. There are elements that can be taken from styles on both coasts and I don't view the styles of one over the other. It would be like comparing Miami to NYC where the climates and lifestyles are different. Personally as for general styles, as far as Western-world styles go, it's Milan for me and also being in Milan. And as far as Asia goes, it's been Japanese style since the 1980s and also different styles of Southeast Asia. I shop the most when I'm in both Southeast Asia and Japan.
