ITS THE WEEKEND! How's it going everyone?! The verdict on select basketball megas is that it is a fun product with a very high ceiling, BUT it is still expensive as far as retail goes with a low floor. But overall better that the football megas in my opinion! let me know your thoughts below!
Select football and basketball retail low key been pretty fire tbh. A lot of rookie color in the select basketball mega boxes

I bought my first Select Mega Box Basketball today (Target Version) and I think I made out well I’m not sure let me know I don’t know much about basketball cards cause I hardly open any. I got a red cracked ice of Concourse and Premier level of Paolo Banchero, a base Turbocharged Paolo, a silver prizm of Cade Cunningham concourse, court-side cracked ice red of Khris Middleton, a blue prizm premier of Luka Doncic, and a green/white/purple of Kevin Porter Jr.
I think I did pretty good for my one and only mega box I’ve opened of this product…haha I might have to get more…select has treated me well in Football too with that Jalen Hurts premier zebra die cut and Darren Waller concourse zebra die cut…🤣

i had 1 box last night hit a roddy gold courside out of 10, a rookie auto a dame courtside cracked ice a chet silver a duren cracked ice premeir lol there insane and the way to go for retail for sure

I prefer football retail vs nba retail, but think the value is better in nab hobby vs nfl hobby currently. Just too many retail NBA products seem to be case hit or bust
Youre not wrong! Football generally sells better than basketball at least at the retail level. But basketball is better than football for hobby
I have kinda swore off of megas...too many boxes are base boxes. Plus I am not super high on the draft class. End up spending money on other stuff to rip. Looking forward to ripping Chronicles Megas saying all of that though, lol. Thanks as always for the content.
megas are basically booster boxes now for helping complete sets. too many base cards and parallels that seem to be worth nothing. we really need numbered cards and autographs to be more prevalent again to make megas worth it

Looks like its hard to pull a elephant are there tigers in these 2? I wanna try my luck i do mostly football but i like the animal skins got pretty lucky with select football pulled 2 zebras out of retail

The price on these is ridiculous. I may have to bow out of ripping at this point. PC singles and maybe taking part in some of your breaks may be the only thing that make any sense for me right now. I do like that you can actually pull courtsides in these. Select football retail was absolute trash. Im pretty disillusioned with Panini at this point.
If you're on a tight budget and you don't care abt the adrenaline rush, just get the singles you want. Don't break wax, and don't even bother about breaks, you will not get anything worthwhile 95% of the time. Probably 99% actually.
@@hjjlai yeah, I’m going singles mostly from now on, but will probably do a break with Acme every once in awhile just for kicks with low expectations. Singles prices are super cheap these days compared to hobby prices.
buying singles is always the safest route to get the best bang for your buck. BUT ripping wax and buying into breaks are fun but should be treated as entertainment!
should have a guaranteed auto at this price point. Retail continues to get worse outside of a few sets

What’s the difference between FOTL and a regular hobby box except that you are guaranteed to hit a crack ice on FOTL

Hard to justify buying these at the $60 price tag. If they were $40 I’d buy them up all day. Definitely think these could end up being better than Select football megas
agreed, $60 is far too much without a guaranteed auto. If panini would bring back ink than the price tag is worth it
Select basketball is trash because of the blue retail. Panini has found a way to ruin basketball cards in general…especially Retail. The only way to make your money back is to hit courtside Prizm of about 10 total players in the set. Or an Elephant.
