- This is an unboxing and review of the @LIANLIHQ SL120 Infinity fans, a nice upgrade to the current line-up of Uni fans from Lian Li that essentially mixes in the best parts of Lian Li's SL120 and AL120 fans and throws in infinity mirrors for extra visual appeal.

Features:
The infinity mirror integration to the SL INFINITY 120 creates a light effect that does not
compromise on brightness, creates a definite separation between the light layers, and adds an infinity RGB depth to the UNI FANs.
The circular-shaped infinity mirror at the center of the fan is visible and tuned to have multiple layers spacing 0.5mm between each, creating a clear multi-layer effect from any visible angle.
Inspired by the original UNI FAN SL, aluminum trims surround the side infinity mirrors that are located on both visible edges of the fan frame.
Each UNI FAN SL INFINITY 120 features a total of 40 fully addressable LEDs for maximum
brightness, the best infinity mirror look, and complete light effect customization.
Other highlights include the ability to change the direction of the fan cable so you can make it face the way you want. This makes cable tidying easy. You can also remove the interlocking mechanism to tidy things up in the case a bit more. Which helps!

can the center rgb around the fan blade be turned off?
Man this page is top notch. I swear everything I look up to see reviews on or learn you have done it. Love the channel man.
Glad you enjoy it! Thanks for watching!
These are so cool, the center hub infinity mirror, and the fact that the blade and frames can be controlled separately to do different patterns at same time is awesome. I will be trying these out in next build but hope the new plugs and controllers are not a pain
So expensive thooo 😭
@@_Bugz1x_ yeah ikr
@@bikedoc4145 just got them and super easy to install and no issues. You can spend a lot of time messing about with all the different colour configuration 😆
@@MakN. awesome, going to grab 6 for mine asap 👍
@@bikedoc4145 enjoy them bro, best fans out there..
Very helpful. I will be using 10 of these infinity fans in the new build I have going. Thanks for the help.
Good luck Tom. Hope you enjoyed enough to sub
I have the older ones & they look so nice in person especialy in a lian li case I had no idea. You cannot tell I have glass on my PC at night. These must look amazing in person
The customization is insane
Next build, for sure. Recently had to jettison an al120 from my build because it was far outnumbered by corsairs. Excellent fan though and looks awesome. These look even better.
Can't wait for purchase it in Norway!
Lian Li knocked it out of the park with the Infinity series, my only gripe is there's no 140's...YET! ;) Great review!
There is now! I just ordered 4 of them.
I'm building my new PC today, 1st one ever, and wasn't going to have RGB fans but now thinking I will have some. These look good.
Thanks this was super helpful
New subscriber … That quality of video is amazing keep up the good work
Thank you. I appreciate it. And I will 😎
Loved the vid prawn
Thanks Norman
Before I saw Corsair's current cases, Lian-Li were my go-to for mATX cases. I still have my PC-V352 as a living room PC and my PC-V353 went into storage earlier this year; both cases lasted me well over 10 years and they're absolutely top-quality. Before them I was using the old Shuttle XPCs which were interesting, but when I was still living with parents I didn't have much room nor could I afford to upgrade graphics cards frequently so they did the job.
It's great to see Lian-Li getting more mainstream recognition. Nice one, those fans are magnificent. :D
Ugh, it was not mentioned in the unboxing, but it does come with screen protectors for the infinity mirrors on the sides of the fans, I recommend installing those before installing into pc, thus you can touch the sides without running the risk of scratches. Cheers.
This was very informative. Thank you very much.
I am planning a very similar setup and have a quick question:
I'll have 3x3 fans + 1 single fan just like in your example. To control the lighting of the single fan, is it possible to connect it only once to the Lighting Node to program its color and then unplug and connect it to the motherboard and it will remember the color? I want my single fan to just have a static white, nothing more.
Thank you
just bought 10 of the normal SL120s these defo look better just because of the RGB fan but not worth the extra money for me right now. I'm more than happy with the older ones i think
Thank you for this very informative video. I have a question: if you want to use another source for both PWM and RGB control - like through the motherboard headers of maybe a Corsair Commander PRO (with RGB adapter cables) - does the control box stil have to be connected with an USB cable to the motherboard? Meaning, do you still need the L-Connect software to configure the control box in "pass through" mode for PWM and RGB or will it default to using the external sources for PWM and RGB if those are present and sending a signal?
Hoping he sees this, I have the same question. If I get these, I want to control the PWM and RGB with an Aquacomputer Octo and Farbwerk 360 respectively. Ideally I wouldn't have to use L-Connect at all and just control everything through Aquasuite instead
I am wondering how the fans connected to the radiator work as they are not connected to the cpu fan header. How would you connect the fans on the radiator to the cpu so the fans on the radiator speed up when the cpu temperature rises. I also thought that the system wont boot if there is no cpu fan detected. sorry if i sound dumb i have only ever done air cooler builds before.
that infinity mirror wiggle does my head in tho haha
Thanks for the video, I was trying to figure how if I needed to buy multiple 3 packs or if I just needed 1 3 pack and the rest singles. It looks like if I want 10 fans, 3 groups of 3 and a single fan for rear exhaust I can buy one 3 pack and 7 singles and be able to connect them all up to the controller. :)

The voice of a superhero 😃
Hey mate with lian li infinity fans if so tryna figure out if it would be compatible with the king 95 pro case in this configuration the 4 front fans would be 140mm reverse blade fans (so intake) the bottom 3 fans would be 120mm reverse blade fans (so intake) the top 3 120mm fans on the aio would be exhaust then the one on the back of the case is a exhaust curious if they could use the built in fan hub on the case or all would work with the included lian li fan hub in the 3 pack thanks heaps for letting me know
for this lian i fan setup is it necessay our motherboard shoud have rgb/argb header or controller will handle everything? since my motherboard does not have any rgb header
Which way does the air flow. I didn't see any arrows on the housing
If I wanna use L connect for the fans and strimers what software is okay to use for the motherboard lighting and other accesories? Ive read problems with asus sync being installed same time as well as others what are you using here for the ram and watercooler lights?
being owner of the SL120 hope the reliability has been improved, I've had 3 SL120 in the past year that started to rattle , bearings gone on the positive Lian Li excellent dealing with replacements
my bearings are fine but my LED died in one fan.
An AL120 died on mine after 3 mo.
Yep... My build was done in March-April timeframe and one of my SL120s had a bearing go bad today while I was on the phone. Started squealing, and when it isn't doing that there's a pretty serious amount of vibration and noise.
@@Thex7phenom I think they have a reliability problem. Sucks.
@@Thex7phenom do recording of it and fill in the RMA form on the Lian li site they will send replacement..
They sent the new batch of sl120 the led lighting is a bit different the whites it's little annoying and the way the lighting diffuses
Currently own the SL120 was just wondering how would you connect the infinity to an AIO that has 4 pin fan header so can use AIO software for fan curves , I currently have 3x SL120 on the radiator connected on the 4 pin Z73 AIO fan header and use NZXT Cam to set fan curves for them, I see the single pack SL Infinity has connector to use standered 4 pin what about for the LED it doesnt go into the Lian Li hub and has to go into motherboard ARGB, would prefer it to go into the Lian Li hub
i'm a bit confused on the controller. I have 3 other aRGB items that are not fans. Is there anyway to run them through the controller and software as well? (gpu block, cpu block and distro plate)
I am thinking to get H9 elite case which will have 4 inbuilt nzxt fans which i dont want to drop... and it will have one controller in it with case,,, if i want to use these 1set of lian li fans ,will the mixture look good ,,, can we use nzxt controller with lian li fans or viceversa
The best looking fans are the corsair QL, thermaltake Riiing Quad and the cooler master prismatic :v those lian li are awesome but 😁 I like the QL from corsair
Today i bought this"" gold " 3pack black😍
is it possible for me to choose a white color around the fan and put red in the middle?
is possible to just disable the middle rgb of fan? to be look like the uni fan? the old one was awesome... but sometimes have more rgb could be great too! :)
Soo how can I plug the AIO fans into the 3 pack hub with the new connector?
I just ordered these fans, I want to know if I can have them as exhaust on my cooler so it looks better and I'm adding 2 extra fans so I can make them intakes will this be ok?
Hello. I am looking to build a pc with the these fans. I really want to use a Corair icue H150i Elite. I've been searching online but can't find an answer to this question. With the controller that comes with a 3 pack of these Lian Li fans support said AIO? Meaning, can I connect the Corsair AIO to the Lian Li controller?
hi can i use the same controller for Lian Li Uni SL Infinity Fan and LIAN LI UNI FAN TL LCD
The actual fan 120mm or are they small like previous smaller fan?
Can u hook these lights on a kraken z73 and have them work right with the aio even with these new connectors and not the 4 pin
SignalRGB is an option once supported.
Thanks man, If i have more than 1 control box. Do i need to connect both of them to both usb ports on the motherboard or how do you connect 2 control boxes
Yes. You can use something like this czcams.com/video/d8vELbWWaCQ/video.html
So the single fan comes with that split cable. Wouldn’t you be able to plug one end to rgb lian li controller and the other end to mb fan header? Si st least rgb still controlled with application
czcams.com/video/0wPi_zNzKF4/video.html
so can a single fan be connected directly to the motherboard headers? or does this require that proprietary hub? I'm trying to find an RGB fan that can connect right to the mobo headers and can be programmed via the bios
czcams.com/video/W_ApiN_Wueg/video.html
Does the Galahad with non-Uni fans work with the fan controller? If not, what's a solution to this?
Where are the sync cables? Are they included in the box?
I think I like the back of the AL120s more. The straight X looks better than the swirly X to me.
I really Hope they do 140's
Only side light can be turned without turning on fan light please reply
lian li really need to come out with some fans that pull from back to front for that back wall in the o-11 dynamic
we are missing out on the infitiy mirrors by the people that made both the case and the fans i dont wanna mount in the front because it ruins the look of the case imo
Which fan is better in look Corsair ql vs Lian Li infinity
The back fan can be daisy-chained to the top ones, and have those 4 as a group, and have 3 connections to the controller
Can you daisy chain it with the included cords that come with for example, if I buy a triple pack of 120 and a single 140 I can daisy chain the 140 to the group of three 120 fans and use the plug into the controller to power all four?
Has anyone had issues with PWM fan curves ? I read a review complaining they don't work correctly with other software. I'm going to run 3 inlet, 1 exhaust and 3 roof radiator outlets with AIO, fan curves will be set up in asus reading CPU and GPU values.
Will Lian Li Strimer works with this new control box?
Hi. Do you know how can I connect single fans to the controller box? The 7-pin cable it's not included.
czcams.com/video/W_ApiN_Wueg/video.html
So I just bought myself 2 packs of 3. My question becomes will they work as both intake and exhaust depending on how you set them? Or are they intake only and I have to buy something different for my exhaust? Sorry for the ignorance, I’m still new to all this
Yes, it depends on the direction you face them. The side with the infinity mirror is where air is pulled from, so if you set that facing outside your case then that's intake and if it faces inside then that's exhaust
hi bro, liquid cooling does not come with that type of fan?
can we combine the sl120 infinity fan with sl120 controller?
They are super nice but i wish the inifinity mirro was on the other side of the fan.
My only gripe as well
If you order a triple pack, are you able you use a single fan as a rear exhaust? Or do they have to be Daisy chained?
czcams.com/video/W_ApiN_Wueg/video.html
Just ordered 12 of these see how they are in comparison yo my ql fans
do you also install these fans on the aio liquid cpu coolor as well?
czcams.com/video/Mm85qMEYlDI/video.html
I have a Galahad AIO 360 for the roof of my PC Build, planning on getting 3 infinity’s for the front. Will they both sync up RGB wise through that controller?
Yes
This fan and EK-Vardar EVO 120ER D-RGB, which is better?
Wait I thought that the controller can control up to 16 fans and you only have 10 so why would you need another controller for the rear fan to plug into instead of direct to the MB ARGB header?
AlsoI am still confused as to what the splitter cable is actually for, is it if you wa to plug in a set of 3 fans and a single fan for a total of 4 fans into one connector on the lconnet control box?
What if i want o put them on my radiator? Its gotta be 4 pin so i can put it in the Cpu_Fan. What can i do?? :)
Does Lian li have a aio that comes with infinity fans? I plan to build in the o11 dynamic case with all infinity fans and a 360mm aio.
Not that I know of. But you could buy them and replace the standard fans on any 360mm radiator.
hi can i get usb cable as my son put it down the tolite
I already have fans that are already infinity mirrors in the hub and I think the first SL120 unifans look better than these. I would get those instead of these lol
Each fan comes with a set of decals for the side mirrors. I can't find any documentation about their purpose. Are they needed?
They’re screen protectors for the side mirrors since those and incredibly easy to scratch
So I want to buy 12 fans to my phanteks nv7 case. Upper 3 will come from corsair aio which I will not change. I need 9 more - 2 on the back, 3 at the bottom, 4 on the side. I want to get bottom and sides ones as reversed version and 2 on the back normal ones, but I dont see triple packs with reversed fans. So what i need to buy to make this working and connect all 9 fans to the same controller? 1 triple pack - 2 of them I will put on the back, and 1 somewehere else which sadly will not be reversed, and 6 single reversed fans for side and bottom? Will I be able to connect all 3 groups (4,3,2) to the controller and I will have all the necessary cables?
I have the o11 dynamic evo case and have 10 fans in total of the uni fan sl inf. I have 3 for intake on the bottom, 3 intake on the side, 1 exhaust on another side and 3 on top with my aio as exhaust. This is my first pc build and the top 3 exhaust and 3 intake at the bottom will not turn on so no rgb and no spinning. I have checked every cable and tried going on l connect 3 but it briefly said that the fans will only turn on after the cpu reaches 50 degrees so can anyone help me?
Hi, I would like to ask something . I have the mother board asus tuf gaming x570-plus (wifi) atx am4 motherboard but it only has a +5v D and it is used for the cooler. what can I do ?
You'll just have to control them via USB and the Lian Li L Connect software
These look amazing. Though I'm not sure if it is worth it to spend £300 to upgrade my already really pretty al120s especially considering these new ones actually perform worse by a little bit.
AL120 👎
hello dear friends, are those Lian Li Fans as bright as Corsair QL120?
wow just when i built my pc with regular sl 120 fans.
Do these work with rgb fusion 2.0?
How well do these/the new controller work with SignalRGB? The SL120s and controller had limitations / performance issues which SignalRGB claimed was a problem on the Lian Li. Hoping this has been resolved with theses.
apparently still runs on low fps, i guess lian li's controllers really are that bad
@@haroldmolina21 thx for the update. I didtched L-connect and the controller weeks ago in favour of Corsair controllers and iCue (and a little hack-and-splice injinuity). Haven't looked back!
@@tworocksandapebble I just got the infinity fans, but L-connect 3 is a dumpster fire. How did you you set them up with Corsair’s controller? I’m trying to find something to control fan speeds and rgb.
how would i get that final fan in the back to work with the others?
czcams.com/video/W_ApiN_Wueg/video.html
Thanks 👍🏻
Thanks for watching
Is anyone here using like a founders 3070 with lian li strimers? I’m building my new pc within the week and I have a 3070 card and I’m buying the strimer plus cable. Is there anyway to make it look nice. Atm I’m thinking of buying a 12 pin to dual a pin cable so I can connect the strimer plus to the 3070 FE. Thanks, also I’m definitely getting these fans, I was stuck picking a fan and when I saw these it was perfect
its possible to avoid the lian li control box? and conect 3 fans with 1 cable?
Yes. I showed how in the wiring video. And the rear one in this video is done that way
i want to wait for the black ones B)
Can these fans be used individually without a fan controller? I bought 2 individual fans, plugged them in, and they don't work at all.
czcams.com/video/W_ApiN_Wueg/video.html
@@TheProvokedPrawn Thank you so much!!!
Is there any way to reverse the air flow direction on these fans? I want air to come in from the bottom of the case and the side of the case, both are in prime view when using the glass Lian Li Evo case. Only problem is, you'll get a cracking view of the REAR of the fan and the infinity mirror is therefore wasted.
Only way would be to reverse the motor. But that’s risky with rgb
No. The fan fins are designed in a special way so that they operate their best one way
I feel like this is a bad flaw in the design and they definitely should have infinity mirrors on both sides. Putting it only on the intake side means it’s not visible in most configurations and pretty much always only half visible best case scenario. Oh well, still cool looking.
So if I buy 3 single pack fans I can’t connect them too the controller?
If you've got a triple pack you'll have the cables you need.
Do these turn yellow overtime?
Which way is intake?
Does it come with screws if not what mind of screw I need
Yes, screws are included.
Can you run sl 120 infinity on the bottom and Al 120 fans on side ?
Theoretically yes, but you'd need two different controllers
Could I use my old SL120s and these ones at the same time?
You'd need a different controller, so it would probably get messy.
We’re did you get the white power cords and what are they called
It's a mix of Corsair's premium power cables and Lian Li's Strimers
Would 10 fans work from 1 controller in a Lian Li 011D Evo, I'm looking at getting 3 packs of 3 for the bottom and side intake areas and top exhaust as well as 1 single fan as a rear exhaust also.
I think you could connect up to 4 chains of 3 fans on the old AL/SL fans, just wondered if it's the same story with the new connectors. Thanks
It's the same logic. Four groups upto a max of four each
@@TheProvokedPrawn Awesome, thanks for letting me know 👍
Yea same, im ordering 12 to go in my Corsair 7000X case. But I have the Kraken Z73 rgb AIO water cooler, debating if I should replace those fans with 3 of these. If not, I'll only need 9
I’m doing this same set up in white, got the evo, just waiting on the 10 infinity fans to arrive
@@spsp6345 I loved the Kraken Z73. I had it for about a month or so, but I finally switched to a custom water loop pc woth 2 radiators (1 is 480mm 40mm thick, other is 360mm & 30mm thick), a CPU waterblock, a GPU waterblock, I7-12700KF, 4 sticks of Corsair Vengeance pro 16b ram(64GB total), 2 2TB SSD Samsung 980 pro(4TB total), 12 Lian Li sl-uni infinity fans, and an evga 3080 ftw3 ultra gaming GPU in a corsair 7000X rgb case and the Asus Rog Strix Z690-A gaming wifi motherboard and a corsair 1000W psu. So far I'm loving it.
I have these fans with a asus z690 formula but i cant get the controller to recognize the fans, what am i doing wrong?
Assuming you've connected everything up correctly, have you got the latest version of L-Connect installed? L-Connect 3? There are also troubleshooting guides on the site I believe lian-li.com/l-connect3/
Thank you so much it works now, it was the software.
Why l connect not showing device…. I try to manual update but not showing device too
Man I feel like the prototypes looked better :( really want to ditch corsair products but damn I just keep finding reasons to keep my ql fans. No one has been able to top them in looks. Those are a close second but tbh I think I like the sl ones better. I'm a fan of big led strips around the entire rim of the fans.
Everything you said, my exact thoughts! I don't own any of these fans tho. As much as I'd like to go with the QL fans, I'm a bit hesitant on fitting then on 3x 360mm radiators in terms of performance, and cable management with 9+ fans.
I'm really trying to convince myself that I'm loving the new SL120 Infinity fans, simply for their cable management and also that they're not that bad as radiator fans, but am still not really fully into it. The regular SL are a classic IMHO, I'd prefer those over the AL.
@@Ben-ld1qi the al sl and infinity fans all have that 3 fan per daisy chain thing which is great. Man tell me about it I have 9 ql and 3 of the stock fans that came with my rog aio. Cable management is a nightmare with 21 different connectors. If you aren't super anal on looks like me I would 100% recommend the lian li fans. I just liked the mirror finish the photos had.
@@11onejay I’m only rocking 7 ML fans and I couldn’t stand the cable management haha let alone 12 total
These look neat, but I need to see them in an all black build before I decide to make the jump
@@11onejay oh boy u got me, i think I'll skip on the QL fans then, as good looking as they are. Appreciate ur input! I really hope that in the future the daisy chain feature will be available for much more fans. The only other static pressure, and daisy chainable fans, ARGB fans that I could find are the Arctic P12 BioniX ARGB, but they are nowhere near as aesthetic looking (IMHO) and only have the ring on one side. Btw did you see any significant benefit doing push/pull on ur rog aio than just push or pull?
I replaced QL120 with SL120 , Myself prefer Lian Li firstly I dont like how the leds individualy bleed out on the QL120 fans secondly so much easier not having to deal with 2 cables per fan makes life so much easier , Also dont like iCue and its random cpu spiking on Ryzen 5000 series , I use motherboard software to pretty much sync all the computers RGB and much lighter
My fans center mirror reflection is shaky is it normal ? I just bought them
It's not normal. Lian Li says you can request an RMA
12:50:
Can you get them to reverse flow somehow or are you stuck looking at the ugly end of the fan if you want to draw air in?
Sadly not that I know of
the only problem with the white fans is they have a black circle in the middle so that will be a deal breaker for me i need all white inly acception is silver
They're the best in terms of looks, but I find them to be very noisy outside of silent mode and they don't perform too well as case/radiator fans either in my opinion at least. Swapped them out for ARCTIC P12 PWM PST A-RGB eventually and my rig was silent and had better cooling.
Installation is easy and fun but beware that if you use them with their Lian Li controller, they won't spin when the argb is plugged in unless you manually update the firmware. Which is quite a pain. Not too fond of the Lian Li software either and it's mandatory for the bling bling lighshow. I've seen worse though like Gigabyte's RGB Fusion 2.0.
If these were dead silent like the ARCTIC P12 PWM PST A-RGB and had the infinity mirror on the back as well, they'd be the best case fans ever made.
Thank you for this summary I'm going to save money and have good performance fans. Can the Arctic p12's turn the color orange?
