You can say the same thing of Lanning. Plus easier route to the playoffs, no problem being top-10 in recruiting every year, probably _more_ NIL resources than Alabama -- and then you don't have to follow the GOAT, less pressure, etc.

With all the new structures and perks in collegiate football what happened to the educational component to college football? Should there be a separation between athletics and academics? Should universities just run football as a revenue source and acknowledge that they are running a farm system for the NFL? With the “New Dawn” of college football is it better to just cut the tether with the academic component?

Hey Klown - the only constant is change. Saban was a stabilizing force and the reason for success. Alabama $$$ is controlled by dumb backwoods simpletons - my guess is that it reverts back to that post-Saban.

Urban Meyer or Lane Kiffin. Everyone keeps saying Dan Lanning built Oregon how the team won 12 games in 2019 then 2020 was Covid year and 2021 10 wins then he takes over in 2022 and does the same 10 wins If anything he hasn't crashed the car but he hasn't built anything.

@@bc_qbeval I've got nothing but respect for what Bama accomplished and if they can keep it going I'll tip my hat to them, but my point still follows. It's the same reason no one wanted to see Golden State win title after title or New England. It's not exciting for people outside of those fanbases to see the same team win over and over. And we're not even talking about pro-level sports where at least you can admire the skill sets. This is collegiate level athletics. At this point, no one is rooting for Alabama unless you're from Alabama. Fact.

If FSU or WASH coach don't take the Bama job... it's hard to see any A list quality coach wanting the job as they're all in great spots now. Why would they want to leave a great situation to follow a legend that includes the often brutal/delusional Bama fanbase. There's no where to go but down for the next coach (mostly). My money's on Bama having to settle for an unproven coach then it may just be our turn (again) to go through a decade long+ coaching carousel.
