    Have been using Zoom in conjunction with Google Classroom for language teaching for 9 months now. It's a great platform. My favourite feature is the ability to split the group into breakout groups or pairs for speaking practice or roleplays. I can drop into the individual groups to check on progress. I use online e-books for materials and can complete interactive exercises in real time using screen share. One feature of whiteboard is that the whole class can contribute. In my last class we did a class drawing as an icecreaker!

    This is a great tutorial for the Host...I'm looking for a similar participant type tutorial- some students will use phones, some ipad, some laptops, etc. I want them to see how to join from the various platforms.

      Me too! Would love a tutorial from the "join" aspect! Are participants able to record and save the video themselves?

      Stephanie, did you find anything like this?

    • @StephanieVogel65
      @StephanieVogel65 Před 4 lety

      Kimberly Sundt no, sadly not yet. I tried to make one but all my devices already have zoom. I’m going to try to get my son to use his computer and phone later and see if I can capture the participant side...I’ll link here (give me a couple of days) once I get it together

      I'm not working with students, but instead interior designers. They have a shorter learning curve, but still . . . . .

    Had my reservations about Zoom with the security issues but this was the best video on how to start online teaching so will give Zoom a go. And hope all works out.

      Thank you! I am aware that they are making big changes and are focussing all their effort on security and privacy so should be seeing some changes. Best security feature you can implement is a meeting password and waiting room.

    One question: from next week my school is gonna start using this app for online teaching. will I only be able to see my teacher or will I be able to see my classmates as well?

    • @FlippedClassroomTutorials

      Yes, you will see everyone in the meeting who has their camera turned on. However the host(Teacher) can turn others cameras off.
