I use this in DCS, but i´m defenetly going to use this on MSFS too. Great Video
Great vid David..A great visual download..The lighting shades were excellent .. Definitely a visual improvement enhancing the overall experience..👍👏
wuaah! our pc setups are 100% identical 👀
when i opened the description, it was like i was reading MY specs 😄never seen that before
great video, i already use reshade for "ETS2" and "Ready Or Not", but i will try it out on msfs as well 👍
Wow great video definitely giving it a try
Thanks! Hope it works out for you
Does it work in VR in MSFS?
I use re-shade with different settings for day/night. That's because in the day by default many cloud layers are washed out (over-exposed). The most powerful shader is the P80-Shadows/Midtones/Highlight all-in-one shader. With this you can adjust saturation and brightness of each part of the image that corresponds to Shadows, Mid-tones and highlights without affecting other shades. Also you can use Fake HDR to lift the default very dark cockpits without also washing out the exterior. It takes a lot of experimenting and time to get it right but it's worth it.
Thanks for a very useful video, I may give this a go now 😅
Can’t wait to get this Installed when I get back.
If your on the MS store version just go to your installed MSFS folder then "content" then you should see "reshade-shaders"
Do you use su15 beta? i had to uninstall reshade couse my sim was crashing because of reshade.
hi it looks awesome very good
Does Reshade work in VR?
Hi, I followed all the steps, but when I press home and choose for example Technicolor2, black green and red just fills my screen and blocks everything
Frame gen on? Can’t get it to work as it causes CTD’s
Hi nice video, I was just wondering if you knew why when i click Home button nothing appears, tried rebinding to other keys but doesn’t seem to work. Using MS Store version. And also Msfs doesn’t show up in the games list to choose from when installing reshade
Did you untick openxr during installation?
@@AirNOTT yes
My question is, each time when MSFS has an update, do we have to reinstall this addon? MSFS update doesnt affect NVidia overlay because it is an external filter unlike this shader. Plus how much performance hit does this shader have when used compared to when not using it?
You don’t have to reinstall ReShade after MSFS updates. I’ve been using it for the last 2 years.
@@Danimalpm1 great thanks. But how does it affect performance compared to Nvidia overlay?
No compatible with the Microsoft Store version? with your steps i have a CTD
Did you have any FPS impact on your system with it on and off?
Post processing from what I know has very low system overhead, there may be some impact but I believe it will be very minimal
You don’t even fly at night it doesn’t matter😂
I mean I know its all colors but it really makes the game more clear.
whenever I activate reshade, my screen is just red. Anybody know a fix?
Gonna attempt this again, tried downloading this a couple weeks ago and it didn’t work
all I need now is a light preset version that works well on my system....
Arent nvidia filters enough? It does the same job and you dont have to overwrite any files...
I tried it once but doesn't seem to work with the MS store version. Personally I think OFF looks to yellow/green-ish and ON seems to be a little too much on the blue/pink-ish side... Thank you for explaining it!
Interesting, I had someone else say it didn’t work with the steam version haha. I believe it can work with either
It does work with the store version. Been using it for 2 years now.
It's weird i only have a shaders folder no reshade-shaders folder
hey buddy, when open reshade, none application appears on list and choose browse but ¿where is flightsimulator.exe?
Should be in C:\XboxGames\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Content folder by default. But you need to gain access to that. This it's a complete different story. You should Google that
Thanks for this definitely give it a try. Though this really illustrates how washed out the shadiin FS2020 really is.
I am curious to see if this works with the PC game pass/Store version of MSFS
It works with the store version. I’ve been using it for a couple years now.
Just installed it with the store version.
@@gibboireland care to share how?
@@trevorcook5973 yep I posted it in another comment below. I had this too with the store version. Try pointing it to the default location of: C:\XboxGames\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Content\gamelaunchhelper.exe
U can do the same thing in the nvidia panel without reshade
its a lot of work
I used it very often. But almost every DirectX / nvidia MSFS crash 'Your graphics device has encountered a problem and the application will exit. This may be due to graphics card overclocking, overheating or due to a driver fault' was caused by reshape on my system. Without reshape they did not occur again
It used to tax my gpu and lose fps significantly. Gpu temps were 10-20c higher than without it, especially when using xplane. I was wondering if something similar would happen with msfs..
Doesn't seem to recognise my MSFS from the xbox store. Any way to fix this?

Does this work for Steam version? In the past it did not.
I’m on the steam version, seemed fine. Though I struggled until I unticked one of the options in the setup (I forget it’s name but I mention it in the video)
I can't use reshade anymore because it keeps removing like 30 fps from my sim now for some reason
Ah no!
Never flying without Reshade.
When I press the Home key on my keybaord, nothing happens
Did you untick openxr during installation? Mine didn’t work until I did that
Press the Home key and nothing opens up, anyone having the same issue?
Did you untick openxr during installation?
@@AirNOTT Done, working now , thanx
Does this affect performance?
I don’t believe so. Not in a noticeable way anyway. I couldn’t tell
reshade cant find my msfs
same problem
When shader is ON, it looks exactly how it would look like when you use a camera + polarizer filter, it cuts off glair, haze and some reflection. it is very nice to use when taking photos, but it is not how it would look like with a naked eye in the real world. that is why my preference is the default, when shader is off as it matches reality vision more than when the shader is on.
MSFS is not in the list
The exe should be in C:\XboxGames\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Content folder by default. But you need to gain access to that. This it's a complete different story. You should Google that

Easier way to install it, when you open reshade go to browse and choose the preset.ini . that way reshade will only install shaders nedeed. Thanks!
