Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery

The Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery is one of three American military cemeteries located in Belgium.
Many of the American service members buried and commemorated here lost their lives during two major efforts during WWII: one covering the U.S. First Army's drive in September 1944 through northern France, Belgium, Holland and Luxembourg into Germany; and the second covering the Battle of the Bulge.
Together, We Remember their sacrifice.

My uncle, Staff Sgt. Vincent Lorusso, is buried at Henri-Chapelle American Military Cemetery. He was attached to the 9th Infantry Division, 47th Regiment. He was Killed in Action on November 2nd, 1944 in the Battle of the Hurtgen Forest.

SSgt Edward Francis Spaight, Atchison, Kansas. My great uncle died 25 January 1945 in the battle of the bulge. He is buried here. Rest In Peace to him and all the other heroes 🫡

My Uncle is buried there the oldest of 14 kids and when I think about him I think of this old man because my father Aunts and Uncles his siblings are all old ,I have to remind myself that this was a boy of barely 20 years old .I hope I get to visit his grave some day.God bless all of our Veterans alive or past. My GOD My GOD ; after my German wife passed I went to this cemetery and found evey boy from Louisiana and said a short prayer over there grave; double checked and Yes prayed for all our brothers 😇

Every time a visit this region, I ride my bike and visit this very emotional place. Most of the time when I come here it is out of the tourist season so I am alone. It is a strange feeling walking here. It makes me emotional and proud that I am here to honour them and what they did for Europe.

My great great uncle Gerald D. Abbott is buried at Henri-Chapelle. He was attached to the 36th Armored Infantry Regiment of the 3rd Armored Division. He was a staff sergeant, and was killed in action near Hoven, Germany on December 12th, 1944. Thank you for your sacrifice and service Uncle Bud 🥹❤️🤍💙🇺🇸

Hi, this is an awesome tribute to the men/women buried there but there is one mistake, some of the men / women mentioned on the wall missing have been found in the past years so it is not that all 450 are still missing in action.

Grave numbers are wrong. I was there last week. 9,388 was the number given at the cemetery not 8000.
