Great new project. I love those old Willys trucks. That one looks to be a real survivor and well worth your efforts. I am sure your cousin will really appreciate the help. Stay cool!

I had 52. Re-powered with a later year Hurricane 6. It still had the 588 gears so it had a ton of torque. Consider a Hurricane 6 re-power... makes a much nicer truck

Here in the North East those old Willys rusted away decades ago. You also need to check the float in the carb. It looks like it isn't stoping the fuel and the pump is just filling the manifold full with raw gas. You have to be careful when that happens with this lousy ethanol gas because what will happen is when the engine gets hot it will bake the excess gas onto the valve stems to the point where they will seize up with the engine running and cause major damage.

Wow! Just found your channel. I dig what ya got goin, vintage tractors and trucks. I love ol Willys trucks. This one is incredible for near original. She's in great shape doesn't surprise me she runs. These are dog gone tuff trucks. I've been searching for one for years. Here in the northeast, they're almost all toast. You got a new subscriber now. Gonna binge for awhile. Thanks for sharing your adventures with these vehicles. Good luck with the projects. I'm rootin fer ya.

This is great! I’ve got a 49 that was my grandpas. It’s in rough and neglected shape but I’ve been pondering doing a video series on getting it road ready from in a field condition. I definitely wanna see more of this truck!

These original trucks were not designed to go much faster than 45mph.

A engine normally stops in the same spot hence the wear

Sweet truck. Swap a tractor for it. A regular "going to town rig".

1952 F4-134 pickup . That motor is a replacement as it should have F4- 134 engine not the L4-134 that is in it now .

Thanks! I don't know its history but it very well could have been.

@@AntiqueCarsandStuff -- The reason why I asked is because it looks like there was a Forest Service sticker on the dash at one time.
