    Great video, seems like a nice shock option for SurRon. Coincidentally, I got the tracking# for the EXT Arma I ordered a couple months ago so I'm pumped to try that one out.

      Did you try it now ? How does it compare to the EXT ARMA ?

    Savage trail at the end there 👌💯
    Y'all looking to try out different front forks next?

      We have something potentially in the works for the front too 👀

    I wonder if the arma is worth twice the pricetag. Saw someone on FB said he replaced his arma with a vonkat because it works much better in the chatter bumps. Most likely getting the vonkat.

    • @emotobros
      @emotobros  Před rokem +1

      I would find it highly unlikely that it is twice as good but I doubt it’d be a disappointment. I wish we had a chance to test it so I could give some better advice!
      I can say for sure that if aggressive riding is your thing, the Vonkat will not disappoint!

    You guys ever ride one of the Cake bikes with the Ohlins suspension?
    Would be curious how their bike stacks up to a full upgraded SurRon w suspension 🤔
    Finally settle the debate on which is better 😉
    Although I wish the SurRon had the drive train of the Cake, no way around that sadly.

      We aren’t a huge fan of the look or price but the specs are great! I’d be curious how they stack up too.

    Always like what you guys have to say about components and love your riding footage. I have been hoping for a while now for a more in-depth comparison between the Fox Float X2 and the DHX2. Whenever you've talked about the both of them (here and in the past) it seems like you always have a hard time describing just exactly how they are different. Saying "the air shock is... just uhh... so hard to compare to a coil... the sensation is just so much different..." doesn't really help those of us that are seriously considering, and having a hard time deciding between the lighter air shock or the coil shock. How exactly is the sensation different? What (if anything) does one 'give up' in order to get the lighter weight of the air shock?
    In a previous video you described the RST shock as feeling 'dead' which was bad, but then also said the Float X2 felt 'dead' but was good. Whats that supposed to mean?
    If there is any way you could come up with a more objective or concise explanation between the two, it would really be appreciated.

      @emotobros  Před rokem +1

      So the when we refer to the Air shock feeling dead we mean that it does not convey much feedback from the rear tire. If you have driven a variety of cars I might compare the air shock to a drive by wire system where steering feedback to your hands is limited and the coil would be like a manual steering on an older sports car. It’s a matter of preference at the end of the day. As far as what your giving up though, I’d say tune ability is 100% the biggest gain with the air shock. No more switching springs to find the right rate. Change your air in 20 seconds even if it’s just for a different rider, trail ect.
      Does this help more?

      @@emotobros Thanks for the reply! Yeah, I've been researching the whole Float X2 vs. DHX2 topic for a few months now and haven't been able to find any comprehensive and somewhat objective description of just exactly *how* the Float air feels vs. the coil spring. All my research has definitely found that everyone freely admits they feel 'different' but no one actually goes into breaking down what those differences are.
      I have also found that mountain bikers reviewing shocks on mountain bikes doesn't really apply to how these items perform on 100+ pound e-motos.

    It's stiffer than the Fox shock even with no preload or compression. V3?

    • @emotobros
      @emotobros  Před 2 lety

      Yep! Feels dialed though. The fox with no compression and some preload is way too soft for aggressive riding.

    So which spring rate did each shock have? Thanks

    • @emotobros
      @emotobros  Před 2 lety

      Both had the same 450lb spring.

    Can you maybe list out what is on this bike that has the Vonkat on it? controller/battery(bypass?)/tires/wheel size/forks I realize you have some of this info on your part-links site.. just want to be sure what I am watching :) I would appreciate it!
