The Cardinal in Charleston West Virginia in the snow. Skip to 0.40 if you would like. This video starts with the train about 1 mile away from my location.
Lovely video. It really is the quintessential West Virginia winter scene -- light snow, train whistle echoing, and then the Cardinal booking past. It's been a few years since I've been on the Cardinal and this video makes me want to make a reservation tonight. :) Thanks for a great video.
@@allenclark338 If that's the street with Tudor's and the car wash then I used to live in the apts about a block from there across from the elementary school. I remember coming home on the Amtrak from a trip wishing they could just drop me off bc I could literally be in the crib in 2 minutes.
Trains and snow. Gotta love it !!!
Thank you John for waiting in the snow to capture this beautiful scene, which I can now enjoy in the comfort of my den.

Damn, that thing’s frickin’ fast!
Yeah right, past 80 maybe?
Close. I think track speed is 70, but I could be wrong.
Didn't look like the RR crossing lights/bells came on. I'd sure hate to stall on that crossing with that thing barreling down on me!
I'm not sure the lights would be visible from the camera angle. The gates do come down. He looks like he's doing 85 or 90 -- he is definitely moving.
Lights yes, bell no
Awesome!!!!!!!!!
Sweet!
At the snow clouds sunny
Wow!
Man! The Cardinal hauling A$$
Oh nice just last month
That was the 50th street crossing in Kanawha City.
Amazing. How fast does it go?
I think track speed is 70 mph, but I could be wrong.
Kanawha City ?
Yep. Not too far from Tudors.
