God, Kelly has the voice of an angel. I remember being a youngster going to see Charlie play, was always great when Kelly would make an appearance. Texas music at it's absolute finest right here. I'll be listening to this when I'm older than dirt.
Natalie Maines is an amazing singer but this is the best version. RIP Charlie spent many amazing nights is a lot of dance halls sing along. You are missed brother.

So my sister in law and her 18 kids (really) live in La Vernia, TX, what you might call suburban Seguin since Seguin is about 10 miles away.
And yes when her daughter was married in town, the wedding party went back to the ranch and they served brisket. No hot dogs, though.

I'll be there, its a three hour drive for me but the don't come this way often, I miss seeing Kelly and Bruce often when I lived in SA...saw Charlie in Indy several years back, give anything to see them more often but too bad the Texas music scene hasn't hit harder in the midwest.

Don't get me wrong, I love Natalie Mains's voice and she sounds great on this, but why isn't Kelly the one singing on the record? Perhaps Natalie was more readily available what with Charlie being married to Emily at the time, but Kelly Willis's voice was made for this song!
