Excellent topic. Great details. The only thing you need to make a correction on is regarding the Spanish Influenza. It was not Avian in nature. The source was from human / porcine and it was Spain that discovered it's existence which is where the name came from but the virus did not originate from Spain. It originated from the united states in 1917 and infected Americans took it to Europe via boat and half of the soldiers died from the virus before the boats made it to Europe

I'm only a farm hand, so am not involved in selecting them - but the last lot was Heptavac - 2 doses a few weeks apart - a vaccine which is apparently for clostridial and pasturellosis. I'm pretty sure there were others, but it's possible they were for a different flock. We've certainly had many sessions of delivering them.
The sheep also have worming drenches every 2-3 months (at a guess).
They ALWAYS get worms. Learning how important the gut biome is, it makes me wonder what the risk/benefit is like.
The cattle seem to get less than the sheep, and are mainly just tested for TB.
What are your thoughts on this?

Need urgent policy intervention to ban feeding cows poultry litter(poultry feces etc) until it can be ruled out as a vehicle. It may easily be spreading HPAI, which would be a huge risk if introduced into the porcine population. Pigs are closer to humans in molecular features which make them higher risk of reassortment. If poultry litter is the problem stop now.

Quercetin has pretty bad bioavailability (1-2% if I remember correctly). Those cell cultures don't prove anything. I know am not statistical significant, but when I developed covid symptoms, I immediately started taking the recommended dose (1g/d), and it didn't show any effects, respectively it couldn't contain the virus in the body (spread from throat to nose, which ended in a complete loss of smell/taste within 7 days for 2 days). I don't say it doesn't have positive effects, but I doubt the antiviral inhibition effects with oral application.

This is very helpful--thank you, Dr Seheult. The way that birds get sick and die so quickly, might prove to be a good thing--as infections might be mostly contained if it were to get into a wild flock. A big concern would be it if were to affect a poultry farm, as a farmer could lose his entire stock. I am wondering if perhaps farms could be outfitted with UVC lights to disinfect the air? And whether infra-red lamps might be able to protect the herds and flocks from bad outcome if they were to get sick? I'm also wondering if the change in season and increased infra-red exposure might explain how the cows and humans in Texas that were infected may have avoided severe outcome. Disease happens. Videos like this can help us to keep cool heads.

Influenza originates in the migratory bird population as it is endemic in their species (geese, ducks). They show no signs of sickness but nearly all of them carry the virus. Every year they bring back new strains from the southern areas and spread it via their feces. This is why turkey and chicken farms are enclosed and precautions are taken by farmers to not track debris into the barns. As the doctor stated, the whole barn will die in couple days. This is why 'free range' chicken farming cannot be done a large scale. It only takes one duck to land amongst the domestic population chickens to kill all of them.

The problem with surgical masks is that they backflush the filter material thus spreading the disease. A proper valved respirator will not backflush the filter material. The valved respirator will also go to a P100 grade protection level where surgical masks might get to the N95 level if they can seal properly (have never wore one that did). The best filter media for respirators is rated for acid vapors. The neutralizing alkali in them will destroy the lipid shell of the virus by saponification (makes soap out of lipids/fats).

I am an epidemiologist through education and training (Epidemiology and Community Health). I have been carefully monitoring Avian Influenza for approximately 2-1/2 years. I observed it when it was predominantly a disease of domestic poultry flocks. I watched it as it species jumped in a mink ranch in Spain. I watched as it was detected in sea mammals in the Americas. I was alerted via PROMED as it was detected in cattle herds in two US states. Now it has infected at least one human although in my qualified opinion there have been multiple undetected human infections with symptoms remaining subclinical. Fragments of the virus have been detected in the domestic milk supply. Now potential bovine to bovine transmission and bovine to human transmission.
This should alarm any reasonable medical type yet my efforts to raise an alarm were met with a deafening silence. IF and or WHEN the virus mutates to cause clinical infections in humans people will long for the "good ole days" of COVID. Admittedly Anthony Fauci is no longer bankrolling Communist China's bioweapons program so it might take considerable time for the virus to mutate in its natural state, but some mutations are inevitable. The US Government needs to start stockpiling anti-viral agents as well as gloves, N-95 masks, N-100 masks, and P-100 masks.

Dr. Seheult, I would like to offer a teachable moment about what a cow is. A cow is an adult, female bovine that has had a calf and is lactating or has lactated. There is no such thing as a male cow or a baby cow. Neo-natal, adolescent and juvenile bovine animals are not baby cows they are calves. The males are bull or steer calves and the females are heifers. Any cows with any symptoms of illness are immediately segregated from the milking herd for appropriate care and support. Their milk is discarded and does not enter the human food chain. You did make the point at the very end of the video that food borne illness is much more possible in raw milk and uncooked meat. Pasteurization and cooking kills pathogens. The feed for cattle is always raised outside and quite often stored outside where it can be contaminated by wildlife. Not a problem for a healthy animal's immune system Most plant based human food is also grown outdoors and often consumed without cooking. As Winston Churchill said " the only thing we have to fear is fear itself".
