The scariest for me was the season 4 finale when dandy shoots all the freaks. It's the realism that makes it scary.
And with all the nonchalance of sweeping up some crumbs off the floor, because that's how he viewed other people, especially freaks.

Asylum is the best season. Perfect mixture of psychological, possession, torture and slasher horror with lots of gore, monsters and even fucking aliens. OG season.
Yep. It's my favorite season and always will be. It was the darkest and twistiest.
I was all for asylum but I felt like it didn’t pace well. The more I watched the quicker it slipped down my list into 6th place 🤦🏿♀️

That one had me thinking because I didn't know whether to find it funny or disturbing.
The nail gun scene from cult, the school shooting scene from murder house, and the metal cone rape from Hotel are the scenes that made me feel physically unwell, and i've seen EVERYTHING (hostel, a Serbian film, etc.)

Devil's Night was an amazing scene. It wasn't scary to me, just shocking when the realization hit. One of the best scenes in Hotel's season.
Alex Finch I think it was more scary as you don’t realise until later that they’re based off actual serial killers. I only knew that Richard and Aileen were real killers immediately

I don't think that Violet discovering her own body is scary, but it is definitely heart-breaking and devastating.
I think the scene from the last episode of Roanoke should’ve been number 1, seeing the group of teenagers getting impaled and burned alive was the most stomach turning scene in ahs history

maya I only liked the first few eps of Freak Show. When Twisty is killed that’s when the show dropped in my opinion, besides the Pepper episode, I enjoyed that.
Gillian Fleischer I think it was a little messy, they only brought other characters from older seasons just to kill them off (MH’s real estate agent and Coven’s Queenie). I loved the first episode but it had one of the weakest demon’s and I didn’t really care about most of the cast, besides the Countess
The saddest scene for me was in freak show when we find out the rest of peppers story and she says goodbye to elsa😢😢 I think one of the most disturbing scenes is definitely the shock therapy and conversion therapy in asylum and when sally sews herself to her friends in hotel

This scene was disturbing because most of the victims were in a library just like Columbine. Ironically when I was in high school back in 2004 a family friend of the first Columbine victim(Rachel Scott) came to my school.
8/10 of these “moments” were just more shocking than scary.

Asylum could have done with having obe of the story lines dropped: incarceration, aliens, possession,, nazi war criminals, mutilation and a serial killer.... drop one would have been better to focus on. Aliens wernt needed

@@joejoe5673 It's so underrated. Definitely the most straight up horror of any season thus far (although I think 1984 may match it). It also had a contained storyline with no plotpoints that went nowhere, which is a common problem for the show.

I get so mad when people say Hotel isn’t a good season. It’s literally a masterpiece, the acting, the scenery, the costumes.....just beautiful. I can’t remember her name but the mother who lost her son (Holden) did such an incredible job acting that I forgot it was just a show.
I really miss Zachary Quinto on the show. He was such a chilling villain

Yea. I'm curious to see what they do with it. It's marketed as straight up slasher horror which I enjoy. But I feel like AHS never takes the typical path and there will be some kind of twist that makes it not what it seems.

honestly i feel like number 1 should have been when lana figured out who dr thredson was, and the fact that in murder house when she was fed a human heart raw and enjoyed it should have been on the list, or the part in murderhouse when they were sewing the demonic babies body parts back together with animal body parts also shouldve been on the list. like violet seeing her dead body, not even disturbing or scary at all, like so she has a couple holes in her face and flies are all around her? not the first time we've seen a mutilated dead body.

Roanoke is so under appreciated. Even if you hated the documentary/reality style filming, it’s still the one of the scariest seasons since season 2.

I definitely found the coffin murders to particularly unsettling! I had forgot about it, but upon being reminded, I am kinda creeped out all over again.
Yooo the scene where shelly climbs up the stairs was filmed at my school!! We do a haunted basement every year right by their in the basement.

Nuclear bombs dropping was the scariest for me because of the real possibility that it could happen.
Yeah the realistic stuff is the scariest for me too. The entire season of Cult terrified the shit out of me because I lived in St Louis during the clown threats and also lived next to Trump extremists so that season fucked me up so bad. I hated the nuclear bombs, too.
You know what was really scary? When the Angel of Death meets her cousin in the body of the nun..and during their conversation she breaks free momentarily of it's control, to cry out and say "Release me"..
When I saw this Top 10, I was expecting that scene.
The couple in the coffins, and the young man with nails in his head are honestly the most disturbing in the entire series, for me. Cult was such a brilliant horror story. I'm in the very small minority who absolutely loved it.

Ok, but how are 2 of AHS's greatest plot twists scary? They're just great twists. Threadson being bloodyface isn't scary, it's a revelation. Violet finding her body isn't scary, it's an aha moment. idk man.

As a claustrophobic, the buried alive scene in Cult was genuinely hard to watch for me. If you agree but can handle a scene like that, you should watch The Vanishing (1988).
Number one broke my heart and made me cry, that scene was a lot and yet made me love the show so much
they should've had an honorable mentions list cuz there's so many more scenes that are golden in AHS...

I like how Murphy and Falchuck made callbacks to earlier seasons as the show went on, like going back to the Murder House in AHS Coven. It’s nice to see the events in older episodes in a new light.

I will really miss Evan though. It was the same when Jesscia Lange wasnt in Hotel...you definitely missed her presence....but once I got stuck in , I enjoyed it. In my opinion Jessica was the Queen of early AHS.
My Older brother likes this show and is looking forward to the new season. For me is weird because I thought he liked magic and supernatural but this new is about a normal serial killer.

its crazy who evan peters playing in the hotel series, the special dinner his character was there feasting w/ jeffery dahmer, who evan peters now starred as for a netflix series "monster - the jeffery dahmer story"... just incredible who evan peters can embody.
