  • The Neel 51 Chica 3 is the most advanced Neel 51 trimaran produced by the yard. She benefits from the Integrel solutions energy system which gives her full autonomy without a generator. But that's not all : she is fully optioned from performance running rigging to extra handrails, teak slatted floors in the bathroom, electric adjustable table, great kitchen appliances etc.
She was launched in October 2022 and has sailed from France to the Pacific with her owner and the help of a professional skipper who have constantly upgraded her.

I thought he was going to say that they put in an electric motor. That would have been amazing!

@SAILTAHITI how did you rig your gybe / boom preventer? Did you use aft mooring cleats to attach preventers?

I have already fallen in love with the Neel 51. Between all types of boats, I love trimarans, and between trimarans, I think the Neel 51 is nearly perfect, of course, except for some little details. But in this video, I saw that the owner had already solved these little problems. If I'm able to buy a boat one day, I'll probably buy the Neel 51, and I'll also upgrade some details, actually, about the design The Windel 54 Catamaran is absolutely perfect about the salon, perfect cabins, perfect front head desk, full open salon, etc. Windel 54 is perfect, but unfortunately, Windel is a catamaran, so I don't like cat so much. If Windel 54 were a trimaran, and if they added an extra Yanmar diesel engine to the boat, then she could be the best boat in the world, but for now, Neel 51 is better: more reliable, more stable, more comfort, faster, and more safe. By the way Neel 51 is way better than Neel 52.

Very nice upgrades indeed. My Neel 51 is feeling jealous! What is the emergency tiller you use on the boat? I am interested to install one as a single tiller (the one on the boat) is a single point of failure. Merci !

Boat looks great.. Desalinator is a horible company if you have the dc watermaker your brushes will burn out. My 51 and another i know of had this happen at 300hrs

I had Desalator on my Switch 51 for 13 years, never any problems nor any changes necessary, maybe installation was bad
Mine was done by professionals in the fishing vessel build

@@georgesoswald5665 Thanks both of you for your comments. A lot of our clients have the Dessalator and are very happy with it. We've seen clients having problems with the DC / AC desolator : if you switch from one current to the other and don t wait for the engine to have completely stopped you damage the blocks quickly

Very nice boat. I just wonder, why do they want to sell so quickly, after having done all these improvements? Are they going for the new 52 instead or what?

Thanks for your comment. Paolo and his family found that the pace of the World ARC was not very enjoyable, their objective was to spend time in the Pacific Islands rather than just 3 days in each stopover, so they left the rallye and did some cruising in Tahiti and Fidji. They are now back in Europe enjoying their family life

@@SAILTAHITI that's not an answer to the initial question, you can still quit the rally, sail at your own schedule, where you want, but NOT sell the boat, especially after all the upgrades and especially if the waiting time is 2 years for another one,so.......why they are selling it...???

@@SAILTAHITI don,t get me wrong...I LOVE NEEL's,especially 51&51 that are my choice, and i am trying to find out more and to decide if the bad gossip regarding build are true or not.

    • @SAILTAHITI

@@ddddd1666 they left the rallye cruised for a while with friends then hauled the boat out in Fidji for the hurricane season and are planning to fly back and put her in the water in may if she s not sold by then. Sailing in Fidji and Tonga and New Caledonia is complicated from November to April due to the hurricane risk. I understand your worries but it would be foolish to try and sell a broken boat at least in that price range as the surveyors always check bulkheads etc. Anyway the bulkheads on the 51 are glassed to the hull not glued like it was for the firsts of the Neel 47 ( they are glassed as well now on the 47). I have spent time on Chica and I m convinced that she is in top condition. I would not risk the reputation of my company on such a matter that would be suicidal

that would not be very fast 🙂 this was the average over 5 952 nautical miles and it takes into account the time at anchor or in a marina when the electronics are turned on (so 0 speed)...
