Yay, the event flagging fixed itself! And yeah, the dialogue in this game is certainly something special. It's like, being funny in a way that's so unfunny it wraps back around to actual humor. I love it.
I remember the first time I got to the market in this game, and I had no idea what I was even supposed to do. Then I was stuck on Vigor the Indestructible until I eventually learned that I could charge up my weapons if they had leveled up. I did eventually make quite a bit more progress than that on my own, but stalled out at some point later. Then, when HCBailly played through this game, I played along with him, starting over from the beginning, and he put together a detailed shopping list for the market to get everything of importance, which I printed out and perused while I played that part.
