    Only one note tho: for turn 1 I would actually use where the kerb starts as a reference because somebody could destroy the 50 meter board and leave me without reference. And that applies to all destructable object actually - I try to avoid using them, even if they are very convinient most of the time 🙂

    • @manuelgogeissl
      @manuelgogeissl Před 2 lety +3

      It depends on track conditions and especially on fuel level and tyres. Just watch a youtube video of a record time trial lap and try to remember the braking points. These are the latest braking points and when you have more fuel, harder tyres or worn tyres you brake earlier. You definitely have to drive some laps to find your braking point depending on your fuel level.

    • @MarcelKiefer
      @MarcelKiefer  Před 2 lety +31

      Can make that but it really varies a lot during wets/inters and dry - fuel load and tire age also matters :)

      @@MarcelKiefer Je kürzer die Renndistanz desto weniger Einfluss haben ja Faktoren wie Reifen, Reifenabnutzung, Spritmenge. Nimmt man mal an das die meisten Spieler nicht mehr als 25% Renndistanz fahren grenzt das doch schon mal einiges ein. Wenn du darauf ausgerichtet Videos für jede Strecke machst, haben diejenigen die längere Distanzen fahren, wenigstens einen guten Anhaltspunkt.

    My personal tip is play a race starting from midfield or back on ai level a tiny bit higher then usual and just follow them around the track, soon you will get used to it and will be looking for the best braking points to overtake which are usually on the limit to where you brake and just dial a few meters back on a normal lap to find your ideal braking point/ turning point ( I play on kb but hope this helps )

    Would you recommend not having the racing line on for a circuit that you have not really driven on before that much or perhaps even not at all, to find your own way around?
    I must say if anything else it is more fun driving without a racing line, I did this at a track that I didn’t know (Zandavort) and slowly worked out my own way round if it is faster for me remains to be seen.

Konnte nicht gut aus den Kurven beschleunigen, ständige Dreher, oft war ich dann so ängstlich und sanft auf dem Gaspedal, dass ich Unmengen an Zeit verloren hab. Und durch dein Video hier glaube ich, hab ich die Ursache dafür gefunden: ich fokussiere mich nicht auf den Kurven Scheitelpunkt und treffe ihn somit auch nicht und kann somit nicht Clean aus der Kurve beschleunigen. Ich hab in den meisten kurven und vor allem schon nach der Start Ziel geraden in der Schikane so heftiges untersteuern, ich kann so früh wie du gar nicht Gas geben und hab schon so viel zeit in die setting investiert, hab ein podium dd1 und weiß nicht was ich falsch mache

    Did you drive with a controller when you first removed the line or did that come later with the wheel? If so, what's the difference?

    • @MarcelKiefer
      @MarcelKiefer  Před 2 lety

      Yes with controller! So still had to relearn everything on the wheel :)

    I am racing without racing line for over a year now but I'm still look for the metre boards or black boxes, is that normal or should I Focus more on "feeling when to brake" like you do?

    • @MarcelKiefer
      @MarcelKiefer  Před 2 lety

      Whatever suits you, my teammate frede for example looks out for those points like you do as well - just in real racing it is not common to do that :)

    i am trying to turn it off but i am either hitting the apex to early or being forced to go straight on and getting a 2 or 3 second penalty is that normal??

    The weird thing for me is, I do just fine learning circuits without racing lines in any other sim/racing game. Somehow I can't get it right in F1 games, no matter if it's a circuit I know or not, I always play with all assists off, but in F1 I just can't get it right for some bizarre reason.

      Read that a lot, it is different, but you will get used to it:)

      Ye I have seen many mentioning what you said and i think that Codies F1 games are actually harder and more unrealistic i guess?

      Bro this is exactly the case with me too. Not a single game other than F1 where I use line. Even though I turned all assists off eventually over the years, I could never get rid of line and I know every circuit by heart too lol.
