- The Finale of the Edinburgh Military Tattoo in 2024. Capturing the Massed Pipes and Drums as they March off the Edinburgh Castle esplanade at the end of the Journeys Edinburgh Tattoo.
The Tattoo happens every August in Edinburgh, and is an incredible show of music, song and dance. Performers from all over the world come to join the show and be a part of this iconic Scottish Show.
This year the show is being led by the Royal Navy, 🔥 J O U R N E Y S 🔥 takes you on a voyage celebrating the brave seafarers who connect cultures across the globe. 🌍✨
The iconic Esplanade of Edinburgh Castle will once again be the backdrop for one of the world’s most awe-inspiring events, which is one of the cornerstones of the Edinburgh festival.
💃With over 800 performers from around the world, including the Royal Navy as the Lead Service, this year’s Tattoo promises unforgettable entertainment, blending Scottish tradition with modern artistry. From the stirring sounds of the Massed Pipes and Drums to the vibrant energy of Teamwork Arts India, audiences will be captivated by a spectacle of music, dance, and military precision. 🎶
The cast of the 2024 Royal Military tattoo in Edinburgh is comprised of:
• Pipes and Drums of the Royal Gurkha Rifles,
• Combined Pipes and Drums of The Royal Tank Regiment,
• Scottish and North Irish Yeomanry,
• Australian Federal Police Pipes and Drums,
• Brisbane Boys’ College Pipes and Drums,
• The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo Fiddlers,
• The Massed Bands of His Majesty’s Royal Marines;
• The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo Pipes & Drums;
• The United States Navy Ceremonial Guard;
• U.S. Naval Forces Europe and Africa Band;
• United States Sea Service Band;
• Pipes and Drums of 1st Battalion Scots Guards,
• 1st Battalion Irish Guards Drums and Pipes,
• Majesticks Drum Corps (Switzerland);
• Teamwork Arts India;
• The Citadel Regimental Band and Pipes (USA);
• Royal Canadian Mounted Police Pipes and Drums,
• The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo Dancers;
The grand finale of the Edinburgh Military tattoo is the massed Pipes and Drums marching from the Edinburgh Castle Esplanade, and parading down the Royal Mile.
The two tunes that the Pipe Band play in this video are the well known Scotland the Brave, along with a part of the Black Bear.

Sounded fantastic from Princes Street..I wondered how many pipers were playing to make that amount of volume! Great memories came flooding back, but I didn't start dancing along the street.😅
