He emphasizes that this obstruction can lead to serious complications such as lung collapse and recurrent infections. While the prevalence of central airway obstruction among lung cancer patients has decreased due to changes in cancer subtypes, it remains a significant clinical concern, necessitating urgent bronchoscopic interventions for effective treatment.
