For anyone that is playing in 1.12 without a texture pack: instead of using wool or terracotta, use concrete. It looks almost completely identical and use black-stained glass. My house looks great with everything!

I would like to see you attempt an easy pyramid or temple home, have like a throne room in the bottom level, a few treasure rooms/storage, a kitchen/forge, Bath or pool, then on the upper levels, the main master room, library/ enchantment room and then a smaller room to use for whatever.

For a good lawn around your house, use green and lime Terracotta stripes that go the length of your entire house. No long grass, flowers, or any annoying plays will grow on top of it and with the benifit of looking like a freshly mowed lawn!

Takes a bit of effort to build in Survival- but it’s worth it and a really beautiful house. If you don’t have a texture pack use Gray concrete instead of the wool!
