When I first watched this I cried. I didn’t understand anything he was saying but the emotions of the dance, the composition, and the way he sings had tear well in my eyes.And when I read the lyrics I cried again. This is such a beautiful and powerful piece of art. Even when I come back to watch this it still makes me tear up. I can feel his pain and I can feel the pain for everyone who experiences the pain of loneliness. Everything is done perfectly and expressively down to their facial express and the lighting. I honestly think the seventeen member that changed and grew the most since debut is Minghao. Being one of the last to join Pledis he had only trained for a few months before debut, and back then he was so shy and struggled to express himself. But now? He’s developed his strengths and skills and he knows how to be the puzzle piece in seventeen and work seamlessly as a part of a team but he’s also able to come out on his own and create his own art with his own style. I’m so happy to see this and so proud of the artist he’s become 💜
I think it was more like pledis made him have this “shy and cutesie” persona. Like how Mingyu said at Fine Brothers that he had the same personality as Seungkwan but he has to talk less as the “visual”. Nevertheless, I’m glad Minghao is unapologetically being himself now.
Hiền Hồ i’ve always thought of this, i mean he was introduced to 17TV around 3rd quarter (?) of 2014, but he probably been training at pledis early 2014. i mean they can’t just include a new trainee to the potential debut group around that time when all the existing members are experienced trainees already and ready to debut. Pledis probably saw a huge potential in him that he was moved to 17 after short period of basic training.
This is a masterpiece dear god. Xu Minghao is such a versatile artist. His contemporary dance was so beautifully choreographed and executed. Big round of applause for everyone that worked on this piece. I am very impressed. Well done THE8👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Ok, something really amazing that NOBODY is talking about is his vocal improvement. He already sang well, but now, can you hear that resonance? His head voice is really better, he is less nasal, he has a lot more power and control, I love this boy so much. A lot of idols stop to improve vocally after some time, but he and Junhui are just getting better and better, to a level that they could be a part of the vocal team without doubts. I'm so proud of him ;_;

As someone who don't have any idea about dance, I can say that he really express it so well. I was crying so bad when he make a 'flying bird' gesture as I felt that he try to 'fly away' from this world and it feels like I was stabbed in a heart when he make those gesture. Am I the only one who end up crying after watching this. I think this is the most beautiful choreography i've ever seen today. The way he expressed the message of the song with that choreo,, it's MASTERPIECE and well made. It reached my heart. the song's lyrics are about facing pain and feeling hopeless, and despairing about why he can't feel better and why he can't escape. the dance is supposed to represent his darker side or possibly some external force trying to control him and tell him how to act or what to feel. when the light focuses on him, he's breaking through, but when it doesn't, he's succumbing to the bad thoughts. the blue light represents the worst times where he's completely at the mercy of the dark shadow, but both times the blue light happens he has a burst-through moment leading to the end, where the bright light and fog and reaching up moments show that he's finally trying to make his way out of the darkness.

Honestly Minghao is soo underrated in seventeen and doesn't get enough recognition or praise for how talented he really is. He has never trained to do contemporary dance and his main dance style is hip hop and bboying yet he was able to choreograph such a beautiful dance full of emotion. He choreographed this dance and made this song👋 I know hoshi participates in the making of seventeens choreo's but I'm not sure if minghao does but if he doesn't I really hope he gets the opportunity to because he's a really great choreographer.
Yes, Minghao does participate in the choreography of some of SVT's songs 'cause the performance unit always helps with the group's choreography- although maybe the China Line & Dino help more for the Perf Unit's dances idk; however, Dino did make the choreography for Flower :)
Minghao said he wrote this in his darkest time in 2019, I hope he knows he doesn't have to hide his sadness and idk if you know but you can tell his feelings by the paintings he paints, he said in an interview that the colours match his feeling so now he has been using hints of yellow because he's feeling more hopeful later but at this time he did a painting with grey, black and red. If I were a man, I would want to be like Minghao. He's very humble and gentle. He has a great fashion sense. He's not afraid of trying new things. He's also funny and smart. We've confirmed it on various GoSe episodes. He's very talented too. He can sing and dance, and is great at taking pictures. If I didn't know that nobody can be perfect, I'd say that he is one. He is art himself but he continue to get better not just for himself but also for the people who believes in him. Am I the only one who end up crying after watching this. I think this is the most beautiful choreography i've ever seen today. The way he expressed the message of the song with that choreo,, it's MASTERPIECE and well made. It reached my heart. I don't know why but both the song and choreo is so heartbreaking that's why I end up crying. I'm so proud of xu minghao. You indeed have infinite talent.

I feel like THE8 is a rich soul...like a very mature and strong willed person. His voice is so versatile, brit his low rap, angellic vocals or hip hop adlibs..... or his dancing, taking care of everyone, having strong principles. I respect him so much.

the song's lyrics are about facing pain and feeling hopeless, and despairing about why he can't feel better and why he can't escape. the dance is supposed to represent his darker side or possibly some external force trying to control him and tell him how to act or what to feel. when the light focuses on him, he's breaking through, but when it doesn't, he's succumbing to the bad thoughts. the blue light represents the worst times where he's completely at the mercy of the dark shadow, but both times the blue light happens he has a burst-through moment leading to the end, where the bright light and fog and reaching up moments show that he's finally trying to make his way out of the darkness.

i was 11 years old when this song came out. i was having a hard time with covid, and the start of online school was hell. sure it was silly, but living through it was hell, outside of online school too, was hell at the time. i hated being home, hated my school. when i heard this came out, i was ecstatic. minghao is my bias and when i watched this, i cried and immediately showed my sister. i anxiously waited for this to be on spotify, but nothing. i listened to this song everyday and made me forget about my hellish school and hell of a home. this song was keeping me alive. thank you minghao, i am now 15. thank you seventeen as a whole. i love you guys.

Honestly Minghao is soo underrated in seventeen and doesn't get enough recognition or praise for how talented he really is. He has never trained to do contemporary dance and his main dance style is hip hop and bboying yet he was able to choreograph such a beautiful dance full of emotion. He choreographed this dance and made this song👋 I know hoshi participates in the making of seventeens choreo's but I'm not sure if minghao does but if he doesn't I really hope he gets the opportunity to because he's a really great choreographer.
Yes, Minghao does participate in the choreography of some of SVT's songs 'cause the performance unit always helps with the group's choreography- although maybe the China Line & Dino help more for the Perf Unit's dances idk; however, Dino did make the choreography for Flower :)

Minghao said he wrote this in his darkest time in 2019, I hope he knows he doesn't have to hide his sadness and idk if you know but you can tell his feelings by the paintings he paints, he said in an interview that the colours match his feeling so now he has been using hints of yellow because he's feeling more hopeful later but at this time he did a painting with grey, black and red. We've confirmed it on various GoSe episodes. He's very talented too. He can sing and dance, and is great at taking pictures. If I didn't know that nobody can be perfect, I'd say that he is one. He is art himself but he continue to get better not just for himself but also for the people who believes in him.
